An Empirical Research On The Embodied-Enacted Cognition Model

Based on the philosophy of cognitive science and starting with emotion,this paper analyzed the internal disputes in the current second-generation cognitive science studies,and demonstrated the limitations of the amalgamated mind theory,which was based on "embodied-extended cognition".This paper adopted the method of experimental philosophy to prove that the core of the second-generation cognitive science should be "embodied-enacted cognition" instead of "embodied-extended cognition".Finally,an emotion-based "embodied-enacted cognition" model was constructed and proved rational.In general,focusing on the "embodied-enacted cognition" model,there were four key issues in this paper:(1)the reasons for the transition of paradigms of philosophy of cognitive science from the first-generation cognitive science to the second-generation cognitive science;(2)the philosophical foundation,research status of the second-generation cognitive science and the critique of the first-generation cognitive science;(3)solutions to problems and internal disputes in the second-generation cognitive science and the limitations of the amalgamated mind theory;(4)the rationality demonstration and theory model construction of the"embodied-enacted cognition" hypothesis.The details were as follows:Firstly,focusing on the first key issue,this paper introduced the first paradigm of philosophy of cognitive science,namely the first-generation cognitive science.The introduction included:the internal reasons and external reasons for the rise of first-generation cognitive science;the philosophical origins and philosophical foundations of the first-generation cognitive science;the contribution of the first-generation cognitive science;the predicament faced by the first-generation cognitive science and the transition of paradigms of philosophy of cognitive science,etc.Secondly,focusing on the second key issue,this paper introduced the second paradigm of philosophy of cognitive science,namely the second-generation cognitive science.The introduction included:the use of scientometrics to analyze the domestic and foreign studies of second-generation cognitive science and predict the future research trends in this field;the philosophical foundations of second-generation cognitive science;the scientific foundations of the second-generation cognitive science;research status and orientation of embodied cognition;research status and development stages of enacted cognition;research status and core of embedded cognition and situated cognition,etc.Thirdly,focusing on the third key issue,this paper introduced the integration attempts within the second-generation cognitive science.The introduction included:comparison of internal approaches in second-generation cognitive science;Mark Rowlands's integration attempts of approaches within the second-generation cognitive science,namely the amalgamated mind theory;the content of the amalgamated mind theory;the rationality demonstration of the amalgamated mind theoryand the defense of Mark Rowlands,etc.Finally,focusing on the fourth key issue,this paper introduced the rationality demonstration and theory model construction of the "embodied-enacted cognition"hypothesis.The introduction included:the rationality demonstration of the "embodied-enacted cognition" hypothesis,and proving that the realization of "embodied-enacted cognition" in the process of sense making is based on the EEG-based hyper-scanning technology;the emotion from the perspective of philosophy of cognitive science and the rationality of choosing emotion as clues in this paper;construction of two-person EEG platform and selection of emotion-evoking videos;the implementation and results of EEG-based emotional hyper-scanning,and proving that the second-generation cognitive science is based on "embodied-enacted cognition" instead of "embodied-extended cognition" from the empirical evidence of cognitive neuroscience;prospects of future research in this field,etc.
