In the early 1980 s,after the first generation of cognitive science characterized by computing entered the dilemma,a number of new cognitive studies emerged, among which the emphasis on the extended cognition that has broken through the brain boundary and extended to the environment began to gradually develop. In 1998,Andy Clark and David Chalmers introduced the concept of extended mind in their article "Extended Mind".They introduced the thought experiment as a form of equivalence argument to demonstrate the equivalence of extracerebral and intracerebral processes in cognitive tasks. Therefore, whether cognition can extend the boundary of cognition and how to define the essence of human cognition arouse heated discussion. The denial of extended cognition mainly comes Rupert in the critic faction differences of Adams and cast argument for the supplement and development,in his view, the cognitive process of the brain in the process of internal and external there are a lot of substantive differences, and extend the cognitive person did not realize that the reason of these differences lies in the principle of equality as a cognitive boundary lack of scientific and logical. In order to promote the rational development of extended cognition,Rupert proposed a set of rational and scientific cognitive boundary demarcation principle to replace the principle of equivalence, hoping to provide a new research perspective for the cognitive boundary problem. This paper firstly combs the main content of the extended cognitive equivalence argument and the understanding of the cognitive boundary in the academic circle.Secondly,it critically questioned the "equivalence" in the equivalence argument, drew the conclusion that there are many differences in the internal and external processes of the brain, and thoroughly interpreted the fundamental reason for the questioning--the cognitive boundary problem, and demonstrated the irrationality of the equivalence principle as the principle of the cognitive boundary demarcation. Finally,a scientific and logical alternative principle system theory is proposed for the principle of equivalence, based on which a standard is provided for the definition of cognition and its process,a new research perspective is given for the solution of the cognitive boundary problem, and an alternative thinking scheme is constructed for the breakthrough of extending the cognitive dilemma.
