The Study Of Career Planning And Development About The Students In Earth Science

The geoscience has its significant survivable requirements and strategic position for national and social devebpment,that makes differences in the national economy,people's livelihood and the survival of mankind in a long history.However,the contradiction between its growing demand in high-leveled talents and gradual decrease in the social approval degree has intensified in recent years because of the particularity of this profession.This study attempts to take students in the research universities as the subjects of study,exploring the various elements of career planning mainly and discovering the historical evolution,the current status,and the occupational values in the career planning of the students in the research universities who major in the geoscience so that we can explore the personnel training and supporting system in hard profession and the education system,from the perspective of career planning.On the one hand,we can heb the college students majoring in geoscience earry out their eareer planning as soon as possible and act effectively.On the other hand,we can also provide data and information for the difficult position in talents of this subject so that the personnel cultivates program of competent department and colleges get closer to the reality and characteristic of the conienporary college students,and more high-leveled people will be provided for the development of this subject.This study takes the career planning and development of the college students studying in earth sciences as the main research contents,studies the framework of theory in career planning from the perspective of values,and takes the evolution of values in different periods as the research background so as to objectively understand and learn about the career planning status and values of the contemporary college students and to explore the career planning education in the field of earth science with Chinese characteristics in the new period.The problem that this study focuses on are as follows.Firstfy,why is the social cognition and recognition degree in the earth science major not high and how to deal with it?Secondly,how do the current college students expect and approve their career about earth science field and how should we carry out the guidance work in education complying with the demand in the development of this discipline?The research colbines the literature analysis and historical research and combines the quantitative research and qualitative research to seek the theoretical basis of career planning of the hard professional college students and expound the times background and strategic significance of the subject.The study also explores the situation in the career planning of college students majoring in the laborious profession with the quantitative research through questionnaires and the forlation mechanism of the college students' career planning and values by interviewing with the typical characters in different period and the academicians on behalf of the contemorary college students.The article is comosed of 6 chapters as follows.The first chapter expounds the necessity,significance,and urgency of the systematic education in career planning from the perspective of the demand in the development of the earth science,analyzes the related theory of career planning and the relevant concepts of earth science,and summarizes the research progress about the education of college students' career planning at home and abroad.The second chapter analyzes and expounds the requirements in the comprehensive skills of talents,the global vision and the ability of interdisciplinary studies for developing this subject,from the origin and historical development of the geology subject,the evolution in the connotation of earth science and the present development and strategic position of the geoscience in our country.Corresponding to the demand,the paper expounds the gap in the current scientific thinking and quality,the theoretical innovation and the fusion in varied discipline,the advanced technology and exploitation,and the quality of talents and platform construction.The gap of subject is the gap in talent ultimately so that the article put forwards the importance and positive significance of career planning education on the training for skilled labor.The third chapter analyzes the historical background of the career development,the social environment,occupation scatter,the change rule and the realization in occupational values,taking the data of the graduation status of the schoolfellows of the Nanjing university in the past 30 years as theoretical basis by the study of interdependence between individual development and social environment,and find out that the proportion of the graduates working in their own profession has decreased gradually Based on the typical character interviews on geological talents and getting the success factors,this chapter obtains the pedagogical implications in terms of celebrity charm,practical geology and liberal professions.The fourth chapter finds the students in earth science of research university have low professional recognition through the analysis in questionnaire data,whose career planning development is relatively lagging,and whose vocational values is pragmatic and has excessive self-regard tendency.The study also finds that the factors of career planning in college students,such as professional knowledge,elements of profession career,expectation and value,have bearing on the personal traits of students.The fiflh ctepter explores the interaction of the way in education,growth environment,vocational guidance and vocational values through the in-depth interviews and from the angle of psychobgy and sociology.And the analysis shows that the basic way of promoting the employment rate of earth science is strengthening the students' interest in professional job,and explain the lack of social practice is becoming the inportant factors that hindered the process of college students' career planning,revealing that students' professional vahies have not been solidified and need more pragmatic education means to be intervened.This inspires students' positive values actively.The sixth chapter puts forward constructive solutions to professional career planning in earth science for guiding the education mechanism based on the analysis in the literature and history and the results of the quantitative and qualitative research.And this chapter proposed learning culture by the construction of campus culture and carrying out the literature for science popularization,enhancing professional interest through the guidance on learning for the new and leading learning by teachers,exploring the way of developing vocational values in practice of education,to improve the mechanism of career planning guidance in geological field and put forward the hexagon model in professional world earth science basing on the Holland Vocational Interest Theory so as to carry out the career planning guidance:in line with national conditions and closed to the age.At last,this chapter expounds the universal meaning of the study,in the both aspects of the socialist core values education and the localization of career planning theory.
