Study On The Correlation Between The Five-year Six-gas And The Physical Fitness Of Chinese Medicine

After more than 30 years of development,the theory of constitution has gradually formed a kind of academic system with rich connotation,extensive extension and practical value,which made great progress in theoretical research,basic research,constitution type investigation,research on correlation of constitution and disease,clinical intervention research and other applications related with constitution.The theory of five circuits and six qi has experienced more than two thousand years of development,from the perspective of stems and branches to understand the universe,nature and life phenomenon,with the yin and yang theory as the rationale tool to explore the regularity of time and space,which provides a new perspective for disease treatment and prevention.Since Twenty-five Types of People Divided According to Yin and Yang in Huangdi's Internal Classic,the theory appeared,but not systematic,which can be seen as the embryonic form of constitutional medicine."Taboo years" mentioned in the article paid attention to the role of time for the human body.With the development of two doctrines and the accumulation of literature research,it is possible to carry out the study of five circuits and six qi theory and constitution.The formation of different physique is derived from the innate genetic factors of parents,but also closely related with the acquired environmental factors,which is the result of the internal factors and external factors,and the birth time is also an important life parameter,which is the temporal and spatial factors of constitution.On the basis of this hypothesis,the study of the correlation between the five circuits and six qi theory and human constitution can explore the influence of the factors on the formation of human body during the time of birth.It is found that the regularity of the tendency of birth and movement and the tendency of congenital human constitution is of great significance on the guidance of clinical practice,rich development of traditional Chinese medicine theory,to further verify the scientificity of five circuits and six qi.ObjectiveAccording to the constitution scale collected by the research group,we can explore the correlation between the five circuits and six qi and human constitution at birth in order to discover the regularity of the time of birth on human constitution.It is aimed to open a new dimension for better clinical guiding by the theories of constitution and five circuits and six qi.The main contents included the correlation between constitution and different elements of five circuits and six qi as well as their principles.2 Data and methodsData were collected by the research group with the accurate birth time in solar calendarof constitution scale from 2014 to 2016.Data of constitution scale meeting the criteria including name,gender,year,month,day on birth in solar calendar,and primary score of constitution from 2014 to 2016 were retrieved and recorded.According to the theory of five circuits and six qi,the stems and branches in year,yearly heavenly stem,yearly earthly branch,yearly climatic change,dominant circuit,guest circuit,(qi)controlling heaven,terrestrial effect,dominant qi,guest qi,dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining,and assimilation and transformation of five circuits and six qi were all recorded and input into the table.In accordance with TCM constitution classification and judgment,the type of constitution was judged and recorded into the Excel.After that,the factors of nine types of constitutions and five circuits and six qi were categorized.Univariate analysis of correlation between the specific elements of five circuits and six qi on birth time and human constitution was performed.According to the yin-yang feature of heavenly stems,they were divided into earth excess,metal insufficiency,water excess,wood insufficiency,fire excess,metal excess,water insufficiency,wood excess,and fire insufficiency.Differences among groups were compared.The correlation of each factor and human constitution was observed.By this,the correlation of dominant circuit and guest circuit and human constitution was studied and the theoretical significance of distribution regularity among groups analyzed by five circuits and six qi theory.The group differences of jueyin,shaoyin,taiyin,shaoyang,yangming,taiyang six elements in six qi controlling the heaven,terrestrial effect,dominant qi,and guest qi were analyzed as well as the correlation with human constitution by five circuits and six qi theory.The influence of dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining including guest(qi)engendering dominant(qi),dominant(qi)engendering guest(qi),guest(qi)restraining dominant(qi),dominant(qi)restraining guest(qi),and normal circuit qi on constitutional distribution was analyzed in order to explore their regularizes.The correlations of yearly assimilation of five circuits and six qi and normal circuit qi and human constitution were also discussed in order to analyze the differences between yearly assimilation and non-yearly assimilation and normal circuit qi and abnormal circuit qi as well as the distribution difference of human constitution on these comparisons.The chi-square test was used for univariate analysis.The samples were not in evenly distributed.To avoid the first type of error,a=0.05 was adjusted for?=0.05/value of comparison between two groups.Decision-making tree analysis was used.The multi-class discrete variable was applicable for types of constitution,which were divided into 9 categories.By decision-making tree analysis,the input independent variables were dominant qi,guest qi,great circuits,(qi)controlling heaven,terrestrial effect,six dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining,dominant circuit,and guest circuit.The parameters of decision-making tree were set as the sample size of minimal leaf node was 30 and the sample of minimal child node was 50.The value of cp was 0.01 and the maximal grow depth was 5 by cart calculation.With regard to logistic regression analysis,the types of constitution were dealt with dumb variable.Take qi depression constitution as an example,qi depression constitution was set as "1" and non-qi depression constitution was set as "0",which was the same as in other constitutional model.By logistic model,the influencing factors of constitution were recorded with dominant qi,guest qi,great circuits,(qi)controlling heaven,terrestrial effect,six dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining,interaction of great circuits and(qi)controlling heaven,and interaction of great circuits and terrestrial effect.The independent variables were recruited by stepwise method,the model was established at the judgment of AIC as the optimal theoretical model.The R-3.3.1 statistical analysis software was used for descriptive statistics,chi-square test,decision-make tree analysis,association rules analysis,and logistic regression analysis.3.ResultsFrom the analysis of distribution of single factor and constitution,the following outcomes could be drawn:I There was a statistical significance in the distribution of the dominant qi and constitutional types,which may be deduced that dominant qi was more important on influencing on constitution formation.II Whether the constitution distribution was in coincidence of heavenly qi or not was of great significance.Comparison between the two groups,like harmonious constitution and yang deficiency constitution,those were born in coincidence of heavenly qi were displayed statistical differences.The proportion of harmonious constitution in coincidence of heavenly qi was less than that in yang deficiency constitution.After comparison,the possibility of harmonious constitution in coincidence of heavenly qi was higher.? In addition,the impact of other single factors on the types of constitution was not statistically significant.From the decision-making tree model,the dominant qi was judged,and then for guest qi,great circuits,guest circuits,and great circuits dominating circuits.Among these,the possibilities of harmonious constitution,qi deficiency constitution,yang deficiency constitution,and qi depression constitution were higher.The predicting accuracy was 28.1%for the model.From the logistic regression analysis between types of constitution and each variable,the following outcomes could be obtained.I For qi depression constitution,guest qi,guest circuits and dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining were of statistical significance(P<0.05).It was indicated that the above-mentioned was the influencing factors.As wind wood of jueyin,compared with damp earth of taiyin and dryness metal of yangming,the former one was of great significance(P<0.05).For reference to guest circuits,water of shaoyyin and fire of taiyang were of great significance(P<0.05).As regard to guest(qi)restraining dominant(qi),dominant(qi)engendering guest(qi)was in statistical significance(P<0.05).? For dampness heat constitution,six dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining and guest(qi)engendering dominant(qi)were statistically significant(P<0.05),which indicated that the influencing factors on dampness heat constitution were dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining.Each variable was discrete,for dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining,taking reference of guest(qi)engendering dominant(qi),there was a statistical difference in comparison of guest(qi)engendering dominant(qi)and guest(qi)restraining dominant(qi)(P<0.05).? For phlegm damp constitution,great circuit and dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining were of great significance(P<0.05),which displayed that these two were influencing factors.With reference to lesser fire of great circuits,greater fire,greater metal,greater water,and greater earth were of statistical significance(P<0.05).For variables of dominant/guest qi engendering/restraining,with reference to guest(qi)engendering dominant(qi),dominant(qi)restraining guest(qi)was in a statistical difference after comparison(P<0.05).IV For yang deficiency constitution,dominant circuits and great circuits were of great significance(P<0.05),which indicated these two were the influencing factors.With reference to lesser fire of dominant circuits,lesser earth and greater fire were of statistical differences(P<0.05).For lesser fire of great circuits,lesser wood of great circuits was in a statistical difference.after comparison(P<0.05).The difference between lesser fire of great circuits and lesser wood of great circuits was dramatic.V For harmonious constitution,dominant qi was of statistical difference(P<0.05),which indicated the dominant qi was the influencing factor.With reference to wind wood of jueyin in dominant qi,ministerial fire of shaoyang,dampness earth of taiyin,and dryness metal of yangming were of great significance(P<0.05).4 ConclusionThere are some correlations between five circuits and six qi and human constitution.Different elements of five circuits and six qi on the influences of constitution are not the same,of which dominant qi is more remarkable.Cincidence of heavenly qi in assimilation of five circuits and six qi is lated with human constitution in statistics.The decision-making tree model can be used to judge some constitution,but the predicting effect is not so good.By logistic regression analysis,some elements in five circuits and six qi are influencing factors on human constitution,which provides a reference for the further study of the correlation between five circuits and six qi and the constitution.Through this study,we can draw the following conclusions.I The flexible application of five circuits and six qi based on the specific conditions is needed.For instance,to analyze the excess and insufficiency of five circuits and six qi based on phenology and meteorology can make optimal judgment and effectively guide the clinical practice.II In future,multi-center,large sample study is necessary for data research and analysis in order to solve the data insufficiency and uneven distribution,comprehensively get known the regularity of five circuits and six qi on the influence of human constitution,verify the scientificity of five circuits and six qi,and sparkle new vitality for ancient traditional Chinese medicine theory in modern times.
