Research On The Method To Observe Changes Of Skin Impedance Of Human Body's All 12 Meridian Points In Real-time

Objective:To extend findings of previous researches in skin impedance of the meridian points,we try to construct a new type of instrument by bring in appropriate new scientific and technological means.With this new instrument,we are able to continuously,in real time,monitor the changes of the impedance of the accupoints more comprehensively and learn more about the correlation between the dynamic impedance changes and the current physiological and pathological status of the person under observation.Literature:The main purpose of the study of the impedance of human body's twelve yuan-primary point is to learn more about the current physiological states of the meridian.Meridian theory is the highest guiding principle behind.Therefore,understanding of the meridian theory and its historical development is very essential.Here,we briefly introduce the important history of the development of the meridian theory from Canon era to Qing Dynasty.In 1970s,Chinese scholars have expanded a large-scale investigation in the number of estimated 1.7 million related meridian sensitive individuals,and confirmed that the meridian sensation is a universal fact.In recent years,objective evidences of the meridians are discovereded,including skin resistance detection,radio nuclear tracer,low frequency sound signal detection,infrared imaging,surface ultra-weak luminescence detector,and calcium measurement,etc.But because the Meridian Biography sensing speed and the characteristics of the known nerve,body fluid and blood vessels are not all the same,there are currently only hypotheses trying to explain the meridian phenomenon,still unable to confirm essence of Meridian.In 1949,Dr.Yoshio Nakatani found that there are many special points which can pass electrical current more easily.These points distributed from the throat,pass through the stomach,and through the inside of the foot to the sole of the foot.He named these points RYODORAKU points.The lines connected by these Ryodoraku points and the meridians discovered by our Chinese ancestors three thousand years ago are almost the same.1970,domestic Yang WeiShen,Zhang Renji and others used four skin electrodes to measure body impedance.They found low resistance bands in the shallow surface of human body:Low Resistive Meridian.They proposed that there is a non-accidental consistency of the low resistance band and the traditional meridian position,and then declared that maridian has an objective physical property of lower resistivity.Next,we did a survey on the technology and status of many research results on the application of the Meridian equipments,sorted by date and put into physiological and pathological categories.Method:1.Develop our own set of instrument which can continuously and automatically measure and record all 24 points' impedance.2.Measuring,recording and analyzing twelve meridian point's skin impedance changes by using this newly developed equipment.Results:1.Introduction to the custom made Dynamic Meridian InstrumentPortable,real-time,comprehensive and continuous measurements are the ultimate goal of most accupoint impedance researchers.And now we adopt distributed processing technology and Bluetooth communication technology,to achieve all these functions with very low cost.The instrument is divided into four modules.Each is attached to one of the 4 limbs.Every module is connected to six signal pads and a ground patch,Each affixed to the surface of the test point on skin.Turn on the power switches,and connect the phone and modules with wireless bluetooth,the measuring results can be displayed and stored on the phone in real time.A cell phone can connect and control up to four modules,so we can simultaneously monitor the impedance of all 24 acupoints.We choose the following accupoints for our study Lung LU 9 Urinary Bladder UB 65 Large Intestine LI 5 Kidney KD 3 Stomach ST 42 Pericardium PC 7 Spleen SP 3 Triple Heater TH 4 Heart HT 7 Gall Bladder GB 40 Small Intestine SI 5 Liver LV 3 They are mostly the same as RYODORAKU except KD3 for Kidney.2.Twelve original points' impedance measurement resultsAs far,we measured 53 persons,with total 63 recorded measurements.Recorded all twelve meridians in each measurement,a total of 24 points for all of the skin impedance values.When testing,meridian map is displayed on the phone in real time.There are 24 long strips,representing the left lung,the right lung,Left hand Yangming large intestine,Right hand Yangming large intestine,etc.,so on and so forth.Until the left foot Yangming stomach,and right foot Yangming stomach.In addition,cell phone will,in real time,calculate various proportions,such as up and down ratio,left and right ratio,and yin and yang ratio,etc.Discussion and Conclusion:We employed distributed processing and Bluetooth wireless communication means and successfully developed an instrument which can continuously measure the impedance of all 24 points in real time.And thereafter performed 63 observations on 53 valunteers each for a short period of 10 minutes.Phone APP automatically recorded and displayed the testing results.According to the recorded data,we can calculate the average,standard deviation,maximum,minimum and number of observation points.Meridian maps are drawn accordingly,which was not possible by the previous generation machines.With the mean,standard deviation,maximum,minimum and number of observation points,the data can be more reliable because a momentary noise would not largely affect the results.We can observe the distribution of data to determine the reasonableness of the data,In addition,we also calculated the upper/lower ratio,left/right ratio and yin/yang ratio.With multi-point data streams,we also can calculate their statistical correlation values.Through these data,we can do preliminary analysis of physical fitness,and possibly find diseased meridian of the person under observation.Provide a powerful help for the follow-up diagnosis and treatments.Besides all these,we also did a comprehensive 24-hour continuous observation for each sex.Hopefully it can be considered as a pioneering work and enough to provide some inspiration for follow-up studies.
