Research Of Regional Architecture’s Creation Mode Based On The Characteristics Of Traditional Residential Architecture In Guanzhong District

In an era of rapid economical globalization, traditional culture is faced withenormous challenges and new opportunities for development. How to inherit anddevelop the traditional Chinese architectural culture is the original reason for this essay.Guanzhong district of Shanxi province, has a long historical culture, whose traditionalresidential architecture has long historical origin and brightest characteristics. Thesignificance of creating regional architecture has been widely shared, while the uniquecultural background of traditional residential architecture in Guanzhong district hasbecome the source of inspiration for many regional architecture creations. At this point,the regional characteristics of traditional residential architecture in Guanzhong districtbecomes the key influence factor for its modern inheritance.Regional architecture creation is a targeted activity. It needs to set target in thebeginning of the design, and the designing behavior should pursue the target. As aresearch on the methods of regional architecture creation, the process of pursuing thistarget can not be ignored. That means the methods of target pursuing should beresearched and summarized, and has general laws to be grasped rationally. The purposeof regional architecture creation is not only for providing a satisfying and pleasantarchitecture and environment, but also for searching for regional identity. During thedesigning process of regional architecture creation, the presentation of architects’designing behavior and their final works are bound to become the key point of its methods research under the regional traits influence.As a national treasure of traditional residential buildings, Guanzhong traditionalresidential building has been widely recognized. Over the years, many local regionalarchitecture works in Xi’an all reflect the modern inheritation of the regional traits ofGuanzhong traditional residential building. A lot of architects have been devotingthemselves to the research and practice of this field, and have presented numerousgreat works. They have formed different styles and types consciously or unconsciously.Their years of practical experiences need to be summarized theoretically, and thepractical behavior should be guided methodologically.Out of this consideration, based on the analysis of regional architectural creationinfluencing factors, at first, this essay deeply researches Guanzhong traditionalresidence from its nature, humanity, technique. To explore the core elements: simple,symmetric, and practical--the typical external characteristic. The long and narrowcourtyard, the splayed coping and thick wall are the unique regional technologies;some external characteristics such as climate and soil, natural attribute, culturalconcept and long history become the internal gene of the Guanzhong residence.Guanzhong people are pragmatic, homesick while Guanzhong traditional residence isjust decorous. The internal gene and the core elements still influence modernarchitectural creation.Meanwhile, on the basis of the analysis of regional characteristics of Guanzhongtraditional residence, after deep researches into the process and skills of regionalarchitectural creation, we found the common law that widely exists in the regionalarchitectural creation. It can be induced into three modes:“target--imitation”,“resolution--reconsitution”,“abstract--metaphor”. Three modes represent threedifferent design operation types, and each of them has its characteristics andapplication of the crowd. This article focuses on these three modes, and summarizesthe concept, cause, theory, feature, meaning, and limit in order to improve the targetand strategy. In summary, to point out the improvement of the three modes and toconceive ideal dynamic architectural creative mode gives us objective knowledge ofthe manner of regional architectural creation. It conducts architectural creatorsscientifically, effectively master the skills of Guanzhong traditional residence and offers guidance to the similar regional architectural creation.
