"This Time, This Site, This Emotion"

Nowadays as the development of urbanization and globalization in high speed, the development of China architecture is faced with the multiple crisis including ecology, culture and humanity. It is a first important problem to be solved for us now that we should establish the conception of modern regional architecture in new period.In this thesis by using the traditional vernacular dwellings and settlements in northwest zone of Yunnan as the chief study background, the archetypal framework of modern regional architecture including"this time, this site and this emotion"three factors will be set up. From nature, culture and sensibilities three aspects in the regional architecture the original creation of modern regional architecture will be explored. In this way the fundamental principle and constructing spirit of the vernacular architecture creation can be revealed.Started at expounding the integrate surroundings of the different traditional vernacular dwellings and settlements in northwest zone of Yunnan, the progressive geographical ecology environment and isomorphic cultural circle system are analysed deeply and the basic patterns of the traditional vernacular dwellings and settlements in the zone which relate with the natural environment and human culture environment are generalized detailedly. Subsequently, in the thesis by using respectively the nature (site), culture (time) and humanity (emotion) which are three factors of the archetypal framework of architecture as the cut-in points for study, the traditional vernacular dwellings and settlements in northwest zone of Yunnan are analysed systematically. Through such study we establish the developing mechanism of the archetypal framework of regional architecture and summarize the useful revelations to the creation of modern regional architecture. In conclusion, the further thinking is made to expound the clue of modern regional architecture.The characteristics of this thesis are as follows:1. The first-hand investigating materials are get by field survey in northwest zone of Yunnan.2. Through tracing back to the regional construction spirit in the traditional vernacular dwellings and settlements in northwest zone of Yunnan, the certain study and thinking are carried on to the modern regional architecture on the actual maneuverability.3. The framework system of archetypal and conceptual theory of modern regional architecture which includes"this time, this site and this emotion"three aspects are built.The thesis comprises about 118,860 chinese words and more than 300 illustrations.
