| The dissertation focuses on the research of political news innovation, the biggest difficulty of party newspaper journalism reform in China, from the perspective of discourse analysis. Taking the news production of Ningbo Daily as an example, an organization which the author has been working for10years, the paper studies the characteristics and production of political news in party newspaper, digs out the social cause resulting in the discourse model of political news and further explores the possible innovation approach of political news in party newspaper. Adopting sociological theory of media production and critical discourse analysis, the paper combines details and facts with abstract theory by methodologies of text analysis, personal observation and in-depth interviews.Chapter One briefs the approach and framework of the research, by raising the issue, clarifying some basic concepts, such as discourse, discourse analysis and political news etc.Chapter Two traces the history of Chinese journalism, presenting three important reforms of party newspapers and the evolution of political news discourse.On the basis of Fairclough’s discourse analysis framework, Chapter Three, Chapter Four and Chapter Five analyze the characteristics and production of political news in party newspapers, as well as the social cause of such kind of discourse model through comparison of party newspapers and city newspapers, by text analysis, discourse practice analysis and social practice analysis.Chapter Six develops the practical way of political news innovation of party newspapers based on the above analysis, by checking the interaction among the Communist Party of China, party newspapers and the society. |
