In the Qing Dynasty, philosophers came into the Confucians’ view, with the identity ofthe spread of the six scriptures. To prove the scripture, which adopted by philosophers, wasregarded as another way to study the Qing Confucian classics. And Guanzi received thegreatest favor of the researchers by practical statecraft. The outcomes are overall anddistinguished, containing from the word exegetical study to the illustration of the main idea,also the textual criticism and discrimination of the collect. From the diachronic perspective,Guanzi mainly studied the different features in different periods. In the early Qing Dynasty,Guanzi followed the features of the late Ming Dynasty, discussing the theories in an emptyway. During the middle Qing Dynasty, it concentrated on the textual study and formed amulti-perspective and profound study, such as the word emendation, theory explanation andthe article classification. In the early Qing Dynasty, it focused on the notes and explanation,paying more emphasize on the recent thought and the gist of the theory.This paper is mainly divided into five parts.Chapter One is about the overview of Guanzi in the Qing Dynasty, including the studybackground, contents, outcomes and the influences. The social uncertainty in the late MingDynasty and early Qing Dynasty, the prosper economy in Qing Dynasty and thetransformation of the research are all the culture background of Guanzi and the previousoutcomes are its academic background. The amount of bibliography of the study on Guanziis81and especially from the mid and late Qing Dynasty. The study proceeds from severalaspects, for example, the exegetical study, the textual criticism and discrimination philologyand the theory thought. The achievements are enormous and make a far-reaching influenceon the posterity.Chapter Two is the study of Guanzi made by Qianjia School. In this chapter, itpresented the Qianjia School’s achievements in general and mainly analyzed the outcomesmade by Wang Niansun, Yu Yue and Sun Yirang. Qianjia textology’s study on Guanzi is ofthe scholar convention which has been removed politic features, the application of thetextual methods in scale, the study model of notes and the recessive expression of thepractical statecraft. The Wang’s Guanzi Notes is rigorous and steady. Yu Yue’s Comments onGuanzi is brief and elegant and the study made by Sun Yirang is felicitous and moderate. Allof the above has presented the styles of textology during various periods.Chapter Three is the study of Guanzi made by Dai Wang, including his life as well asachievements, the study contents, features and influences. His study on Guanzi is the mostexcellent representative in Qing Dynasty. And the fundamental reason is that he took in and created some ideas based on the previous works, as well as referred to Guanzi Emendation,which were not published and cost half the lifetime. It transcended the others’ in theapplication of versions, the combination of theories and textual studies, and also the regularoperations of the emendation and notes.Chapter Four is the research of sub-chapter of Guanzi, with the discussion of the dutyof apprentice and the features of the nature as the central idea. And the separated research inQing Dynasty is the frontier of the later ones. In the Qing Dynasty, people regarded DiZiZhi,DiYuan, NaiYe and XiaoKuang as the subject, especially the former two.Chapter Five is about the theory study of Guanzi and the discussion was based on thestudy in different periods, the early, mid and late Qing Dynasty. This helped make clear thedevelop pattern of the theory study on Guanzi. Fang Bao was the representative of the earlyperiod, with the feature that he extracted the meaning and got rid of the words that were notbelonged to it. During the mid-Qing, Hong Yixuan was the leading figure, who produced theexcellent articles under the study of textual study. And Liang Qichao was the representativeof late Qing Dynasty, who observed Guanzi theories with the western thought and highlypraised the economy and politic strategies.
