With more than ten years advance of studies on Artifact-centric Business ProcessManagement (BPM), the study now is experiencing a transition from the fundamentaltheory exploring to a system implementation approach. Thus, how to implement flexible,efficient and lowcost management by using cloud computing platform is becoming apopular issue.This thesis analyzed the relation between Artifact and the data in database from adataspace perspective. Then the data connection problem is solved in data managementand process management. On this basis, the architecture design of Artifact-centricbusiness process management system (BPMS) on the cloud computing platform isprimarily studied. The details are outlined as follow:Firstly, the three-layer architecture is constructed which includes: logical layer,physical layer and management layer.Secondly, two kinds of logical model, Artiflow and Serflow are proposed in logicallayer. Artiflow model is a logical model that is created based on user business processdiagram. By analysing the key Artifact and its lifecycle, extracting and optimizing dataaccess task, the Artiflow model is converted into Serflow model which is closer to aphysical implementation. This paper defines XML and Graph description of the elementsof these two models, their structures and construction rules. The converting methodbetween them is also proposed. Hence, the design of logical layer, the definition andconvertion of logical models are determined.Thirdly, two major parts are included in the implementation of business process: oneis cloud database service underlying as data storage, and the other is Web service used todata operation. First, cloud database services are classified, and a database servicesselection method is presented under the consideration of both scalability and cost. Then, aservice metadata database is created to store cloud services information, and an inverseindex is set up based on Artifact cloud service operations for atomic service detection andcombination. The physical layer is finally implemented through detecting and combining Web services and cloud database services within the cloud computing platform.Fourthly, a cryptograph index technology based on INTERFERE theorem, a methodfor leaking measurement and leaking reduction and a query method with optimizingscheme of encrypted Artifact are proposed by analyzing data security in cloud databaseservice. A tracking method for Web services is also proposed, and a static and a dynamicmethods for timeout judging are present based on AOE net. Besides, a FSM based Webservices correctness judging method is proposed and services adjusting method is given.The management of the processes is realized through Artifact management in Webservices and cloud database services.Finally, a prototype system of Artifact-centric BPMS is developed based on currentcloud platform. All the functions include process design, launch, monitor and datamanagement in this system are available after downloading BPMS client from the Webbrowser.
