The paper based on the correlation between education and social mobility, centered on the Mao, through investigating the education life of five generations from1905to2010,we discussed the Education Mechanism in Social Mobility,In particular, after the fieldwork over the past and half year from March2012to September2013,by using the method of documentary, oral history and life history study, data was collected includes history document, educational historic materials, genealogy and material of clans, oral historic materials. Based on the proof of the inter-confession of the documents and oral historic materials, the paper explore how it has an effect on the social mobility and traditional structure of clan.Observing and Studying thoughts of Mao, we found:under the Imperial Civil Service Examination System, the elite member in Mao expectations by free schools, clan education, Education of Ancient Academy (approved by feudal monarchy) and Imperial Examination System acquired the cultural power of the upward social mobility; After the abolition of the imperial examination system, the elite relied on the new education and diploma achieve upward social mobility, and completion of the identity conversion rapid; The period of the Republic of China, the modern education involved into the clan practice, education level increased significantly, the family members occupation began differentiation, the role of women began significant; In the political movement period, clan severed into the class society, the relationship between education and social mobility became weaken; The thirty years since the resumption of college entrance examination, the relationship between education and social mobility is increasingly close, education contributed to the young generation in the occupation structure and strata on the huge differentiation; during this process, the clan as a kind of blood or blood consanguinity primary social organization has declined.Case study can extend, the study of Mao’s educational and family history should be placed in the historical context of social change. Case studies supports:modern education are closely related to the historical changes, education is not just educational activities, but a wide range of historical practice and cultural mechanisms. From a macro level, Education has become the country-owned utilities in modern society, Countries become more powerful through education. With the rising of modern education, popularization and socialization, Education not only spawned a new occupational groups and social strata, but also changed the present scheme of society. And on the other, Modern education system gathered individuals in the schools, through number of years of education, the individual was rewarded cultural capital and professional qualification. In this process, the individual also achieved self-social mobility, Education changed their living space,identity,occupation,social relationships,ideas,and other lifestyle and behavioral. And these changes are further shaping of their needs, motivations and behaviors, so the social changes become possible.
