Research On Minority’s Social Stratification And Social Mobility From The Perspective Of Education In Xinjiang Area

Chinese society transformated from the planned economy to the socialist market economic,Social openness improved gradually. This makes all levels of social mobility got faster, Stratified flow increases the way. In many factors, along with the industrial society for the requirement of social members professional knowledge skills increasing, education is increasing day by day for growing selection function, especially for minority students, realized upward social mobility through the education, become an important and effective way. So education of minority in the social stratification flow process the role and the dilemma is the focus of this paper.This article taking Xinjiang minority as the main research object, by the most population in Xinjiang Uygur minority group as an example, using qualitative research methods, grounded theory, described and analysed of the Uygur family in social stratification flow process, of the role of education and with the social transformation and under the impact of market economy, the education function of the change.Education and social mobility relationship has two ideas:one is the education to promote the social mobility, Still have a kind of idea that education to promote social mobility is conditional. This research use function of the socialist social stratification theory, analyzed and interpreted the role in promoting of education to Xinjiang minority economic capital, cultural capital and social capital accumulation, and then influence the promoting function of Xinjiang minority social stratification flow; But at the same time, we found that most of Xinjiang’s ethnic minorities has very distinct nation characteristic, influenced by the Islamic culture for a long time, has its own culture, language, customs and religious belief, when minority social stratification flow, inevitable with the national culture of the mutual collision, education in addition to this play between lubricant and catalyst role to promote the minority social stratification flow outside, also having some trouble. Especially with the increase in the student enrollment, the arrival of the era of mass education, education of minority college students’social stratification flow on the role of the weakening trend. Social transition and the impact of the market economy, the ethnic minorities have great influence on social stratification flow, minority in the social stratification flow process, the family of capital proportion directly influence the ethnic minority social stratification flow, so when the minority of the disadvantaged groups realized upward social mobility through the education, often need to find the work that technical stronger and in affected by social capital influences, otherwise it is difficult to achieve upward social stratification flow. The middle class in the minority, for their good family condition, it may be more to maintain the original capital through the education only, social stratification flow is not obvious.
