Professor Zhang Xiaoping is a national famous TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) doctor, a famous TCM doctor in Jiangxi Province, a doctorial tutor and one of the national fourth and fifth batch of famous veteran TCM experts. Ms. Zhang was subservient to court instruction in her childhood, and kept upholding the knowledge transmitted from elders of her family. Until now, she has been engaged in the clinic, teaching and scientific research for more than 50 years. She is wealthy in knowledge and has rich experience on clinical. She is good at treating internal disease, especially the spleen, stomach, liver and gallbladder disease. She has put forward her own academic idea—Taste Gasification based on the repeated experience accumulation and the improved theoretical level in the medical treatment experiments for decades.This research try to elaborate the tutor’s theory of Taste Gasification and clinical experience comprehensively by the way of learning from the tutor on clinical, collecting and classifying the medical records, sorting out the typical medical cases, referring to the ancient and modern literature, consulting the theses, medical cases & notes and works related to the academic thought of the supervisor, as well as writing the study notes by combining the clinical prescription of the supervisor.The research contents are divided into three parts. The first part mainly introduces the origin of the theory of Taste Gasification from three aspects which is family edifies, medical education, clinical experience accumulation; tells the tutor’s Taste Gasification Theory from the aspects of physiological function, physical attributes, pathological features. The main contents include lift regularly, the change mutually because of dry wet fitting in and out, and orderly and so on; this paper analysed the relation between tutor’s Taste Gasification Theory and modern medicine combined with the acquaintance to digestive system. The second part summarized the clinical experience and analyzed the clinical application of Taste Gasification Theory of the tutor from three aspects:the first aspect is to summarize the tutor’s experience on clinical of the diseases about spleen, stomach, liver and gallbladder combined with the typical medical records.:The main contents include the tutor treat the 7common diseases like peptic ulcer, ulcerative colitis, precancerous lesions of gastric cancer, functional constipation, chronic viral hepatitis B, fatty liver, chronic cholecystitis and so on. The second aspect is to summarize tutor’s 17 prescriptions which commonly used on clinical from multiple perspectives of the composition, efficacy, indications, prescription analysis, modern pharmacology, clinical and experimental study and so on. Main contents include the tutor’s common empirical formulas in treating spleen and stomach diseases, liver and gallbladder diseases. and other viscera diseases. The third aspect is to summarize the specific application in the clinical treatment on the tutor’s Taste Gasification Theory combined with her clinical experience and the characteristics of her prescriptions and medicine. Main contents include four aspects:be good at regulating the lifting of spleen and stomach, pay attention to stomach Qi, emphasize stomach-invigorate, attach importance to the balance of dryness and damp, lay emphasis on the order of qi activity. The third part, evaluated the clinical effects of treating gastroesophageal reflux disease with Zhang Shi Jiangni Decoction through using randomized controlled clinical study, the result proved that Zhang Shi Jiangni Decoction combined with proton pump inhibitor has a significant effect on treating gastroesophageal reflux disease.
