Objective: To investigate, establish and improve the exercise intervention programs for type 2 diabetes and to finalize exercise intervention strategy for improving health conditions of the diabetes high-risk populations as well as diabetes patients. Methods: Pre-exercise index system for diabetes were established by nineteen diabetes patients and sports medicine experts through questionnaire survey method.Fifty-six diabetes patients were recruited to test the availability of the main index of the system. The effects of a single exercise intensity, exercise duration, starting time of fast walking or jogging and squat to decrease blood sugar were experimental investigated. Finally, all the fifty-six type 2 diabetes patients were divided into three groups: control group(n=20), aerobic exercise group(n=18) and aerobic exercise combined squat group(n=18) and involved in six months exercise intervention program. Blood sugar, blood lipid, HbA1 c, insulin, C peptide, body composition were analyzed to evaluate the effects of exercise intervention program.Results:1. Pre-exercise index system for diabetes patients contained four first-level indicators(general information, body measurements and physical examination, laboratory examination and exercise-related fitness evaluation), twelve secondary indicators(medical history and health condition, body configuration, blood and urine indexes, etc) and fifty tertiary indicators(family history, exercise intensity, blood glucose, etc). 2. Diabetes exercise intervention program included:(1)Exercise mode:fast walking or jogging combined squat;(2)Exercise intensity: 50%VO2R(middle intensity of aerobic exercise) or 30%VO2R(low intensity) and 30% squatmax(low load of squat);(3)Aerobic exercise duration:30 min(middle intensity) or 60 min(low intensity)and 15-20 min of squat(five groups, interval time was 2-3 min);(4)Exercise frequency:three times/week of aerobic exercise and two times/week of squat;(5)Exercise initiation time:30-45 min before the peak appearance of blood glucose. 3. After six months exercise intervention, significant decrease of insulin, blood sugar, C peptide,TG,CHO,body fat and increase of body water weight were found, compared with pre-intervention(p<0.05). Meanwhile, decrease of body weight, HbA1 c, LDL-c and increase of muscle weight, HDL-c and VO2 max were found without statistical differences, compared with pre-intervention(p>0.05).Conclusions:1. Personalize exercise intervention program established according todiabetes pre-exercise index system were safe and personized. 2. The exercise intervention program: 50% VO2 R fast walking or jogging lasted 30 min combined 30%maximum number of squats lasted 15-20 min, 5 groups, 2-3 min interval time at 30-45 min before the peak appearance of blood glucose, which was comprehensive and easy to implement.3.The exercise intervention program could improve the health condition of diabetes patients, which was well acceptable and had the potential of clinical popularization. |
