BackgroundOur country was a populous developing country facing with rapid aging. And chronic diseases became common disease in people and main cause of disability and death. The medical expenditure became an enormous economic burden to individuals, families and the whole country. Health management as a new medical service model provided solutions to these problems. But the overall application of China’s health management informationization level was not high and information sharing especially the data exchange between different units was so weak that resulted in information isolated island. Deep data mining and processing was almost blank. This situation required raising the level of informationization in the health management as soon as possible. Objective and MethodBased on the situation of health management and information technology at home and abroad, applying the method of literature research, field research, brainstorming method and expert consultation method, this study explored to establish a new mode of taking comprehensive hospital’s medical examination center as the main body while linking hospital and community by information technology and information system and optimizing health management process. Through collaborative management coordination, information sharing and service, interactive, continuous and individual and group active, continuous, full course health management mode was provided to individuals and mass people.Content and resultThis study established a suitable informatized health management model based on comprehensive hospital’s medical examination centers and made a further study on its principles of construction, organization structure, operation mechanism, and the conditions to ensure key elements. The mode was formed longitudinally by regional administrative department of health, comprehensive hospital’s medical examination center, community health service centers and individuals, transversally optimized by applying modern information technology. The new mode provided individual and mass people with active, continuous, full course, real-time interactive health service and achieved health dynamic "found management", saving expenditure and optimizing the health resource allocation. In the second part of this study the health management information system needs were analyzed. According to health management service process, the system adopted overall design characterized as C/S and B/S hybrid architecture. And system overall design scheme of function module and database as well as the implementation scheme of the system were also explored to ensure stability, scalability, maintainability, and safety guarantee of the system. The empirical study in the third part analyzed prevalence and distribution characteristics of overweight, obesity and related chronic diseases in2medical examination centers and describes its characteristics. The unconditional Logistic regression analysis method was applied to discuss overweight, obesity and related chronic disease risk factors. The results were consistent with previous reported literature which could verify the validity and reliability of the information system, suitable for the realization of the new mode. The establishment of sharing health management information system could allow people undergoing health check-up to enjoy real time health knowledge, obtain their physical examination results and participate in health management to enjoy the interagency, sustainable and authorized health management service.
