cross-sectional survey of community residents over 18 years old in Yushui District,Xinyu City,we can grasp the epidemiological status and influencing factors of the prevalence of overweight and obesity among community residents in Yushui District,Xinyu City, and find out the relationship between the prevalence of overweight and obesity and the prevalence of hypertension and diabetes. To provide support for local community health service agencies to carry out personalized interventions for obesity-related diseases such as hypertension;providing scientific basis for local overweight and obesity prevention and control work. Methods:Using the stratified cluster sampling method,3039 community residents aged 18and above in Yushui District of Xinyu City were randomly selected for questionnaire investigation and measurement of some physiological indicators.Residents’questionnaire survey included basic information, lifestyle, and diet. The main indicators measured include height, weight, waist circumference, and blood pressure. The survey is completed by trained investigators using face-to-face interviews.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis method was used to explore the influencing factors of overweight, obesity and central obesity;single factor Logistic regression analysis method was used to explore the relationship between overweight, obesity and central obesity and the prevalence of hypertension and diabetes. The comparison between data groups also used statistical methods such as chi-square test and the trend of chi-square test.Results:(1)Epidemic characteristics of overweight in community residents aged 18 and above in Yushui District,Xinyu City. The overweight prevalence was 25.47%(95%CI:23.92~27.02),and the standardized overweight prevalence was 24.88%.The overweight prevalence of urban residents was 22.24%,which was lower than 28.31%in rural areas(χ2=14.679,P<0.001);the overweight prevalence of women was23.81%,which was 27.42%lower than that of men(χ2=5.163,P<0.05);The highest prevalence of overweight in the age group of 45~59 years old was 30.73%,and the lowest prevalence of overweight in the age group of 18-44 years old was 21.85%.The difference in overweight prevalence of each age group was statistically significant(χ2=19.082,P<0.001).Multivariate regression analysis showed that women’s risk of overweight was lower than that of men(OR=0.184,95%CI:0.690~0.960),and the risk of overweight in rural areas was 0.286 times that of urban residents(OR=1.332,95%CI:1.125~1.577).Compared with the 18-44year-old age group, people in the45-59years old age group are more likely to be overweight(OR=1.622,95%CI:1.243-2.116).Different vegetable intakes have different overweight. The greater the intake of vegetables, the lower the risk of overweight(OR=0.687,95%CI:0.495~0.953;OR=0.641,95%CI:0.458~0.898).(2)Epidemic characteristics of obesity among community residents aged 18 and above in Yushui District,Xinyu City. The obesity prevalence was 5.40%(95%CI:4.59~6.20),and the standardized obesity prevalence was 4.66%.The obesity prevalence of urban residents was 4.57%,which was lower than 6.12%in rural areas(χ2=3.353,P<0.05);the obesity prevalence in the 18-44 years old age group is 3.75%,the obesity prevalence in the 45-59-year-old age group is 6.73%,and the obesity prevalence in the 60-year-old age group is 5.32%.There is no difference in the obesity rate of each age group Statistical significance(χ2=4.073,P>0.05);the results of multivariate regression analysis showed that the obesity risk of people with monthly income≥3000 yuan was lower than that of monthly income<3000 yuan(OR=0.549,95%CI:0.336~0.897)。Different vegetable intakes have different obesity rates.Compared with people who consume insufficient vegetables, people who consume moderate amounts of vegetables are more likely to be obese(OR=2.151,95%CI:0.928~4.985).(3)Epidemic characteristics of central obesity in community residents aged 18and above in Yushui District,Xinyu City. The central obesity prevalence was 25.27%(95%CI:23.73~26.82),and the standardized central obesity prevalence was 18.84%.The central obesity prevalence of urban residents was 24.92%,and the prevalence of rural central obesity was 25.59%,the difference was not statistically significant(χ2=0.183,P>0.05);the central obesity prevalence of males was 23.91%,and the central obesity prevalence of females was 26.43%,no difference in obesity between sexes was found(χ2=2.544,P>0.05).The lowest rate of central obesity in the 18-45age group is 15.67%,and the highest in the 60-year age group is 27.91%,and the central obesity rate increases with age(χ2Trend=25.080,P<0.001).The results of multivariate regression analysis showed that the risk of central obesity in the 45-59and 60-year-old age group was 1.617 times(95%CI:1.191~2.195)and 1.794 times that of the 18-45 age group,respectively(95%CI:1.340~2.402).Compared with married or cohabiting people, divorcedo rseparated or widowed people are more likely to suffer from central obesity(OR=1.597,95%CI:1.267~2.013).The risk of central obesity for people with a monthly income of≥3000 yuan is lower than that of a monthly income of<3000 yuan(OR=0.612,95%CI:0.481~0.799).The rate of central obesity is different for different oil intake.Compared with people whose daily oil consumption is less than 25g,those who consume more than 25g daily oil are more prone to central obesity(OR=1.587,95%CI:1.304~1.932).Different vegetable intakes have different central obesity rates.Compared with people who eat insufficient vegetables, those who eat adequate and sufficient vegetables are less likely to be central obesity(OR=0.594,95%CI:0.425~0.829;OR=0.521,95%CI:0.371~0.732).(4)The relationship between obesity and related chronic diseases in community residents aged 18 and above in Yushui District,Xinyu City. The total prevalence of hypertension and diabetes were 37.94%and 6.80%,respectively.the risk of hypertension and diabetes in the overweight group was 1.692 times that of the normal weight group. The risk of hypertension and diabetes in the obese group was 2.563times and 1.442 times, respectively;the risk of hypertension and diabetes in the central obesity group was 1.444 times and 1.381 times that of the non-central obesity group. Conclusion:The overweight prevalence of people over 18 years old in Yushui District of Xinyu City is not very serious. It is characterized by higher levels of rural residents than urban residents and higher males than females. The overweight rate increases with age,Of which trend of increasing first and then decreasing. The prevalence is higher in rural areas than in urban residents. The prevalence of central obesity is lower than the national level. The prevalence of abdominal obesity among residents in Yushui District is not serious. The prevalence is higher than that of men in men and lower in urban residents than in rural areas.Central obesity increases with age.The prevalence increases accordingly. Both central obesity and systemic obesity are highly correlated with hypertension and diabetes.Compared with people with normal weight, obese patients have a higher risk of hypertension and diabetes;compared with people with normal waist circumference, patients with central obesity have a higher risk of developing hypertension and diabetes. The risk of blood pressure and diabetes is higher.Relevant departments should formulate policies for the production and sales of healthy foods that are conducive to the people’s choice of low-fat and low-energy,and promote healthy low-fat diets.Community prevention and control work should include obesity as part of the prevention and control of chronic diseases, improve obesity prevention and control strategies from multiple angles, and focus on middle-aged and elderly people with central obesity to reduce the occurrence of hypertension and diabetes.
