Emergency Information System Design And Implementation Based On Cognitive Task Analysis

[Objective] In recent years the hospital information system (HIS) has developed rapidly, the run of good information system can effectively reduce the occurrence of medical errors, to protect patient safety, but emergency information systems design and implementation is very difficult. In this study, we use cognitive task analysis to summarize and analyze the key links in the emergency clinical work, and to guide the design and implementation of the emergency information system.[Methods] Firstly, the current situation survey of hospital emergency department information systems was performed. We finished the preliminary investigation report, finishing the needs to address the key issues in the construction of emergency information. Secondly, we used the methods of cognitive task analysis to determine the key aspects of the task analysis report of the emergency clinical work, proposed to improve the efficiency of emergency clinical work and to protect patient safety. Finally, we cooperated with the "Donghua" software company to complete the final structures of the emergency information system.[Results] The current hospital emergency department information system has many aspects that need to be refined and improved. We finished a thorough analysis of the core needs of the emergency clinical work, found the key links for the information system construction, and completed the emergency information system structures for the better services in the emergency clinical.[Conclusion] The cognitive task analysis as a more scientific task analysis method has good application prospects in many fields. This is the first time to apply the method on the emergency information system construction and implementation process. We made the emergency information system more reasonable and practical through the cognitive task analysis.
