Qinba mountain is located in the HanRiver’s upstream,the southern of Shaanxi province,between Qinlin and Bashan.It is not only our country’s the north and south climate and the natural geographical dividing line but also north-south and east-west cultural convergence and transformation of axe.Under the dual role of nature and the humanities,in the contradiction of regional resources and environment and the human activity,Qinba mountain rural settlements have experienced the special process of the formation and development,as well as constructing the regional’s vernacular architecture culture,which with a typical regional characteristics and geographical features.At present,there are still has many blanks.Although the existing research c ontent not only covers the cultural,immigration development,resource environment other aspects and research viewpoint shave also covered society,history,geograph y.,ecology,architecture,ect.However,it is rarely that based on the research achievem ents of agrestic settlement perspective,lack of cross between disciplines of Qinba mountain rural settlements and faces many practical difficulties and opportunities.The resolution of the destruction of the ecological environment,regional culture,th e influence factors such as the lack of humanistic concern the benign developme nt of the settlements,whereas,post-disaster recons external truction,migration and o ther projects’ implementation also provides a favorable environment for the devel opment of settlement and motivation.Thus,based on the urgent needs of the realit y supposed to be timely research work in this field.In line with the understanding in the past,reveal the phenomenon,summaries the principles of law system,com plete and thorough the internal rural settlement construction and development stra tegies and adapt to the methods.This will have an important academic and realist ic significance.This research mainly in Qinba mountain rural settlements as the breakthoug h point.Established the three levels of culture,settlements,vernacular architecture,as sociated land resources,environment,climate,and on the basis of social culture,from the cultural formation,the evolution of the settlement,settlement space form,cons truction technology and cultural expression and contemporary vernacular settlemen t construction strategy and appropriate method of Qinba mountainous rural settle ments for six aspects’ system study.In the process of research,through the way of empirical research and practical investigation reveal the Qinba mountain backgrou nd and evolution and rural settlements.Second,agrestic settlement in as the mainlymeans of surveying and mapping under the premise of the firsthand material th rough the relevant research and the analysis of typical examples and the from th e macroscopic and miroscopic of two aspects to summarize and analyse the Qin ba mountainous rural settlements and internal mechanism and morphological char acterisitics of building construction.And on this basis,through the analysis of drivi ng mechanism of the development of rural settlements and contemporary issues,c ombined with the reality of Qinba mountain and opportunities of resettlement,on the basis of inheritance and reference to put forward the construction strategy of contemporary Qinba mountainous rural settlements and appropriate method,in ord er to achieve settlement as a whole,continuous and healthy development provides the ideas and methods of referrence.
