With the arrival of the 21st century, the Chinese economy is driving the rapid development of national culture. Cultural institutions established by the Government began to pay more attention to man’s all-round development and people’s spiritual and cultural needs. Cultural Centre is one of the representatives of such public institutions. It is a place that city or region can carry out mass activities, such as developing social propaganda education, popularizing scientific knowledge, Organizing and Counseling the masses with cultural or artistic activities.By sorting through a large number of information about cultural centers, reaching similar constructions built at home and abroad, and basing on the actual projection——Zhuhai Culture Center Design, this paper mainly discusses the small and medium-sized cultural center constructions in the new period, including function constitute, space shape, and how to express region and tradition in architecture design etc.Analysing and discussing the space characteristics and processing technique which is suitable for small and medium-sized cultural center is the paper’s core. The space characteristics and processing technique include: diversity and unity of space, intercourse space, traffic core space, shared space, transform outdoor space into indoor space. The article summarizes two combinations of the function space through surveying comprehensive functional layout of domestic small and medium-sized cultural center, that is Comprehensive and centralized entirety-type, Organic and dispersed open type. Based on the Organic and dispersed open type, the paper still analyses and discusses the planning and integrating way about the space sequence level——Export-oriented extend sequence and Internal-oriented surround courtyard. The planning and integrating way have 5 important points, they are intertexture and integration, constructing the sense of place, establishing site center, setting scenicfocalpoint node, reflecting sense of times.This paper tries to pay close attention to the development of the small and medium-sized cultural center building with architecture view and architecture vocabulary. Also, The paper studies how to express the entity meaning of culture architectural with novel architectural language. By striving to create More high-quality indoor and outdoor environment, and attracting masses to participate in culture and recreational activities, the purpose of this article is to trigger more and more attention about contemporary Chinese culture development and public cultural activities.
