The Quantitative Research On The Hard Core-Agglomeration Phenomenon Of Asian Urban Central Districts

Under the context of the deepening of eco-globalization, the interaction and competition within the globe strengthen, and those cities that are on the top of urban rating system have stronger influence on global economic development. This, thus, makes the high-end production elements inflows to those core cities and it also pushes the expansion of urban scale and upgrade of urban functional structure. However, urban central districts, as the agglomeration core of urban public service facilities, are the core illustration of urban competition and economic development and they go through rapid pace thus forms many new changes. From the perspective of the development situation of Asian urban central districts, those districts of those cities that are on the top of urban rating system, go through breathtaking development in spatial scale/structural morphology/functional formation/transportation system and so on. A new spatial structural mode by name of hard core-agglomeration structure out springs. Correspondingly, the trend that urban central district develops to hard core-agglomeration structure is called hard core-agglomeration structure manifest.The hard core-agglomeration phenomenon, which origins international and even global core cities, are the outcome of high concentration of production factors in the international and global scales. On the basis that china becomes the world’s second largest economy, many cities within have enter the competition sequence among Asian or even the world’s top cities. In response to this situation, this paper takes Asian which is highly similar in culture and geography as its background, undertakes quantitative research on the hard core-agglomeration phenomenon, summarize the law features and constructs its spatial structure mode. This can provide the basis for enhancing our competitiveness and build a more rational development pattern district.This paper combines theoretical analysis and case induction to conduct the research. As for the theoretical analysis part, first, analyze its generation mechanism, further analyze the spatial effect under and then derive theoretical mode. As for the case induction part, relying on GIS/Depthmap technology platforms to study the central area of those six core cities that emerge hard core-agglomeration phenomenon:Tokyo/Osaka/Singapore, Seoul and China’s Hong Kong SAR and Shanghai. This paper starts with three aspects of spatial form, function composition and transportation systems within central areas. Then, it summarizes 30 regularities of the phenomenon, on which basis, it brings up its spatial structure model and threshold rule.The main innovation points of this paper are summarized as follows:1. Proposed the hard core-agglomeration phenomenon of high-level urban central districts and construct its driving mechanism model and the theoretical structure model.For the hard core-agglomeration phenomenon within Asian high-level urban central districts, this paper aim to analyze its driving mechanism from two aspects:outside spatial concentration driving force and the inside upgrading force, then it constructs the driving mechanism of the model. On this basis, this paper analyzes the spatial effect of the driving force and further build its theoretical mode.2. Conduct full range quantification to compare those Asian urban central districts that emerge hard core-agglomeration phenomenon.Relying on GIS, Depthmap technology platforms and also combining architecture, planning, geography, transportation, economics and other disciplines analytical methods, this paper quantifies the spatial morphology, function composition and transportation system to sum up the 30 regularities of central districts with hard core-agglomeration.3. Proposed spatial structure mode and threshold regularities of the hard core-agglomeration structure central district.Based on a full range of quantization, this paper brings forward conclusion/summary and abstraction to each element of central districts with hard core agglomeration. Further, it constructs systematic spatial structure mode and reveal the deep development rules. On the foundation of the rules, it puts forward the threshold of forming the hard core-agglomeration structure from the two aspects:city and urban central district.
