Abstract/Summary:
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, implementing the new development concept and promoting high-quality development have become the main melody of China’s economic and social development. As the core growth pole of regional development and the spatial carrier of economic and social development, the urban agglomeration represented by the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration plays an irreplaceable role in China’s economic and social development and urbanization process, and has become the main form of China’s new urbanization construction. However,in the process of changing from focusing on scale development to focusing on quality development, urban agglomerations including the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomerations generally have problems such as polarized development of core cities, unclear hierarchical system and poor urban relations, resulting in imbalance of internal relations of urban agglomerations. Therefore, taking the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration as the research object and studying the evolution of the spatial structure of urban agglomeration from the perspective of the comparison of urban scale and development quality has important theoretical and practical significance.Based on the core edge theory, spatial interaction theory and network development theory, this thesis defines the spatial structure of urban agglomeration from the perspectives of core structure, hierarchical system and relationship network. From the perspective of urban scale and development quality, this thesis constructs different index systems to measure the spatial structure of urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta. The empirical analysis results show that: from the dual perspective of urban scale and development quality, the urban development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration generally presents a spatial distribution state of strong in the East and weak in the west, and the spatial structure generally presents the common characteristics of increasingly prominent multi-core leadership, clearer development levels and increasingly strengthened network connections. At the same time, affected by natural endowment, location conditions, policy adjustment, factor flow and other factors, there are also problems such as polarized development of core cities, large gap between levels, unstable network connection and so on.Among them, from the perspective of urban scale, the influence of natural endowment and location conditions is more important, the characteristics of increasingly close network connection are more obvious, and the problem of polarized development of core cities and large gap between levels is more prominent; From the perspective of development quality, the impact of factor flow and policy adjustment is more important, the characteristics of increasingly prominent multi-core leadership and clearer development levels are more obvious, and the problem of unstable network connection is more prominent. Therefore,in the process of changing the mode of economic development, cultivating core cities, developing clear levels and strengthening network connections have become the key to coordinate the spatial structure of urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta and promote the high-quality development of urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta. In order to promote the coordinated development of the spatial structure of urban agglomerations in the Yangtze River Delta and provide demonstration and guidance for the high-quality development of national urban agglomerations,it is suggested that:coordinate the agglomeration and diffusion effect, cultivate and consolidate the pattern of diversified core cities;Optimize regional industrial cooperation and clarify the level of urban development;Improve transportation infrastructure and carry the coordinated development of urban agglomeration.
