Research On The Evolution Of Rural Physical Environment In Guilin

Guilin, is located in the northeast of Guangxi province. It’s famous for its beautifullandscape and profound historical culture. Meanwhile, the rural area in Guilin formed itsregional characteristics with its complex natural geographical environment and ethniccomposition. The thesis is aimed to find out these characteristics of the living environment inGuilin rural area. As the landscape of Shanshui in Guilin is the main element of countryside,the discussion takes the physical environment as the research object, which includes naturelandscape, agriculture landscape and settlement environment, to analyze the structure of thespace form, the logical of morphological evolution and the direction of modern spacevariation.First, combining with the method of morphology, typology and cultural geography, theresearch analyzes the scale of rural settlement, the distribution of village, the structure ofvillage space, and the form of environment elements, finding out the relationship and thespace organization logical of nature landscape, agriculture landscape and settlementenvironment.Second, taking the the rural physical environment as a changing object, the third chapteranalyzes the changing process of the rural physical environment in multi-dimension, andcleared out the historical information of present rural morphology in Guilin.Then, the research studied the historical influences of the rural development and thelogical of local adjustments to the space structure and form in Guilin rural area. Combiningthe historical evolution before1978with the present evolution after1978, the study tries toclear out the situation of present rural environment and the potential direction of itsmovement.Finally, based on the above chapters, the sixth chapter summarizes the regionalcharacteristics by finding out the role of different elements in rural living environmentconstruction and the structure of the physical environment. Meanwhile, according to thecomparison of different phase of evolution, the research finds out the internal cause of presenttransformation and the valuable local experience of rural construction. Through the historical data analysis and field investigation, this article gives the answersto the question about regional characteristics and evolution logical of Guilin rural area, clearsout that the nature environment takes the main role of Guilin physical environment and thatthe local material resource and local community construction are keys to the futuredevelopment of local village.
