Study On The Evolvement Of Urban Space Structure Of Nanjing

A urban is within the scope of a certain geographical space entity, and its formation and development are inherent in space order and a specific spatial development patterns. The urban’s substance space records the development of its own historical context in a particular method. The formation and development of urban spatial structure and spatial morphology is the interaction of forces in external and internal elements of urban. The different urbans poss various urban spatial structure and spatial morphology. With the fast development of China’s economy, the number and scale of China’s urban has been rapid development, therefore we are at the expediting stage of urbanization. In the context of globalization, along with outspread of massive urban construction activities, urban space experienced rapid and drastic change, and the characters of many historic city of China are disappearing. Owing to social demands, research into urban spatial structure and spatial morphology and its principle of evolution is both important and urgent in order to guide government policy. The major content, which is about urban spatial structure and spatial morphology and its principle of evolution, is the issue which urban planning study focused on. These researches contribute to formulate a more rational urban development planning strategy, to guide the city’s sustainable development.Nanjing is a famous ancient capitals of China, with the superior physiographic condition and profound accretion of culture. The environment and Nanjing city is unified entity, whose style and features are the significant components to form the characteristics of the historical city. Since reform and opening-up, Nanjing, as one of the key cities of the yangtze river basin, like the other urban, undergoes the rapid development. Self reforms modernized city construction that the fleetness develops, bringing very big changes to the ancient city. This made the city tradition scene accept effect, lead the city culture weakens and loses. With Nanjing as an example,this dissertation makes a systematic theoretical research on the urban spatial structure and spatial morphology of Nanjing city by exploring the evolution of its historical context to find evolving trace, spatial feature and dynamic mechanism. Firstly, the dissertation analyzes the social background of by periods according to the spatial evolving process. Secondly, this thesis studies on location thinking, construction model and evolution process of Nanjing city, analyzes the interaction between deep structure of city form and urban physical form by levels to search after its inherent mechanism. Thirdly, the paper focused its key research on the organization pattern and element features of the urban spatial structure and spatial morphology of Nanjing city by elements. Finally, the article discusses and summarizes the research, raising the ponder and prospects for the future spatial construction, and then analysis problems and proposes countermeasures to provide a reference for the city’s sustainable development.
