The collection, collation, conservation, utilization and sharing of the mineral, rock and fossil specimen resources is a high priority, fundamental and long-term strategic task for China’s geosciences. Thus, China launched the constrtuction of National Infrastructure of Mineral Rock and Fossil Specimen Resources. The Infrastructure required that mineral, rock and fossil specimen resources of the preservation unit should be digitally expressed according to the uniform standard and norms; and establish of a certain size, quality standards database through integration of the specimen resources; and use the information network platform to provide services to the whole society; and ultimately achieve the goal of effective sharing of mineral, rock and fossil specimen resources.According to the requirement of infrastructure construction, some application and research work of geological information that is suitable for our country and has geological characteristics has been developed on the basis of research and analysis of the sharing status quo of mineral, rock and fossil specimen resources at home and abroad in this paper. The work includes standardization system, specimen database construction, data integration, information system development, and mobile phone applications. The principle and the method of standardization system have been researched. The standardization system and sharing system of mineral, rock and fossil specimen resources have been established after the relevant expert’ review and revision. Specimen resources database, mineralogy database system, geoscience thematic databases, and core metadata database according to the standardization of the infrastructure have been designed. A certain size, centralized data storage database have been established after using Kettle which is a ETL tool to integrate the specimen resources data of each unit. Management system and portal of the infrastructure have been developed using J2 EE technology architecture(Spring MVC+Spring+Hibernate). The management system has realized the unified management of information resources of specimens, and achieved fine user access control by integrating Shiro framework. The portal has realized network shared services for the specimen resources, and provided the resources retrieval function in a variety of ways. The first design and production of qr code label card of specimen resources has brought convenience to the administrator who should often view the details of physical specimens in a warehouse environment by using mobile phone to scan qr code. Android APP used in mobile for the specimen resources has been deveploped, and the function of browsing and querying the specimen resources of.the infrastructure in anytime and anywhere has been achieved preliminarily through the Android APPBased on the above technologies and methods, the information application system of National Infrastructure of Mineral Rock and Fossil Specimen Resources has been established. Around the core of sharing, the infrastructure will user information sharing to stimulate and promote the physical sharing; improve the utilization rate of mineral, rock and fossil specimen resources in China, and provide strong technical support for scientific research, scientific and technological innovation, professional teaching, scientific popularization in the geological field.
