The developments of network technology, communication technology, computer hardware and software provide a strong support and prosperous opportunity for GIS. Now GIS can be widely applied into many fields, "digital earth" and "digital city" become the new aims and applications by GIS, at the same time the development of the grid technology opens up a new way for GIS. Opportunity means challenge, GIS faces a lot of challenges, such as: organizing and managing the great complicated amount earth space information, inter-operation and sharing the spatial information, etc. The next step of GIS is web geographic information service (WGIService), it will be easy for solving these problems, the geographic information and GIS functions will be the sharing resources on the internet through the WGIService, therefore the internet resource will be fully used for the management of distributed geographic information by this way, and the efficiency and quality of service will be also improved.In this paper, the author firstly analyzed the multi-resources spatial data, and then studied the related services of spatial data. At last, the author put forward the distributed multi-resources spatial data service based on J2EE (DMSDService). DMSDService is a technology system on the internet, the core of which is distributed multi-resources spatial data. DMSDService is the foundation of integration of multi-resources spatial data and sharing and inter-operation of spatial information.The main innovations and fruits of this paper include:· Building a Distributed Multi-resources spatial data based on J2EE, it is independent of operation and easy to integrate on the Internet;· Building a 0-0 data model of GIS, it is easy to expand, access and manage;· Building a spatial data accessing engine, it can finish majority works of spatial data and manage big range and multi-scale spatial data. With the help of agent server, spatial data server will be managed, so the spatial data can be stored and managed distributedly.· Building a function agent server, it can manage the spatial data query services based on attribute and spatial, this validate that the GIS functions can be distributed on the Internet;· Realizing the 2D and 3D expression of geographic information and browsing the geographic information with multi-scale and immensely.
