Investigation On Tourism Investment

Due to a coming golden age for the tourism industry in China, the tourism investment has been the core point for the fast and sustainable development of tourism. However, there are some problems such as faultiness of investment mechanism, inconsequence of investment configuration and shortage of financing, owingto which, it is the tourism investment that becomes the limitation of the development of tourism. The investigation configuration is not established yet. In addition, current research work is mainly limited by the methods of cases description and analyzing, and the advices are usually proposed based on the conventional experiences, which is lack of guidances of theory investigation. Therefore, it is necessary and important to investigate the tourism investment and present the advices for accelerate the development of the tourism in China.The concept, configuration and principle of the tourism investment system, evaluating of tourism investment environment and the mode of tourism investment are investigated in this dissertation. The research work and conclusion are helpful for both of the tourism investment in China and the improvement of the theory of investment.The main innovations of this dissertation are as follow:I. The concept, configuration and principle of the tourism investment system are proposed and investigated. It is presented that the tourism investment is a complicated nature-economy-society system based on a given background of zoology, society, economy and culture. The sub-systems of investor, investment object, investment elements, investment proceeds and investment control as well as the external environment are analyzed, respectively, which is the foundation for the later evaluating of tourism investment environment.II. The evaluation system is established for evaluating the tourism investment environment. The necessary of the evaluating of tourism investment environment is demonstrated by the research work on tourism investment system and evaluating of tourism investment environment is important for the deeply analyzing of tourism investment. Based on the principles of synthesizing and particularity, static and dynamic, as well as scientific and operational, the evaluation system including 27 evaluation indexes in five aspects of economical environment, regional location, political environment, tourism status and social environment are established. Then, the evaluating of tourism investment environment is realized by means of principal component analysis, based on which, the GAP analysis on the tourism is presented and it is shown that some provinces are the main provinces with GAP of tourism investment. The evaluating of tourism investment environment is the guidances for the next investigation on modes of tourism investment.III. Main modes of tourism investment are proposed. Based on the analyzing of statuses of tourism investments in 31 different provinces using cluster analysis, the tourism investments in 31 different provinces are classified as four main modes, namely, resources-leading mode, economy-leading mode, round development mode and weak foundation mode. Furthermore, the classification and characteristic of the four modes are analyzed based on the theory of tourism investment system, respectively, based on which, some advices including consindering tourism investment as system, paying enough attention to the environment and operating due to modes of tourism investment, are proposed for different modes of the tourism investment, which is useful for the development of the tourism investment in China.
