The purpose of the paper is to explain the concept, composition, forming mechanism and difference among enterprise competitive advantage in supply chain through theoretical and empirical analysis. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:1. Definition of supply chain dynamic capabilityBased on analysis of different definitions from different perspectives, the paper provides the definition of supply chain dynamic capability combining characteristics of the supply chain. And then extends the research scope from single enterprise to supply chain organizations. It not only enriches the theory of dynamic capability but also changes the research view from the supply chain function to supply chain itself.Supply chain dynamic capability is the change capability of supply chain. It is the integrate system of self-organization compatible with the external environment. It can effectively manage supply chain networks and resources to obtain sustaining competitive advantage. Supply chain dynamic capability is the concrete expression of dynamic capability in supply chain organization and is the development of resource base capability.2. Forming mechanism of supply chain dynamic capabilityThrough careful theoretical analysis the paper builds the basic structure of the supply chain dynamic capability. It consists four capabilities:operational capability, improving capability, coordination capability and reconfiguration capability. Here, operational capability usually includes the prediction opportunities, strategy development, construction, running, relationship management, network monitoring and termination of supply chain. Improving capability contains the orderly integration of four learning mechanism of knowledge representation, knowledge explicit codes, knowledge sharing and knowledge internalization based on improving process. Coordination capability consists of four kinds of function, tools, system and teams of supply chain. Reconfiguration capability includes flexible and agility of supply chain. Synthetically considering the relationships between variables reflected by various kinds'theoretical framework and hypothesis, apply the sample data to make empirical analysis of every assumption. And test if the sample data support the hypothesis. Compare the hypothesis and the results and then educe the constitution of supply chain dynamic capability. Discuss the theoretical and practical significance.3. Relationship among four dimensionalities of supply chain dynamic capability and competitive advantageBased on synergetics theory, operational capability, improving capability, coordination capability and reconfiguration capability are interdependent and international. Supply chain dynamic capability realizes self-improvement and evolution in the cycle of continuing synergy of the four capabilities. There are different influences among the four capabilities in the role of the whole synergy in supply chain dynamic capability. The contributions to the synergy are different so that there different significance among them. Similarly, the various factors should be assembled according to the importance to achieve the best synergistic effect in the internal structure of the various capabilities.The influences of supply chain dynamic capability on competitive advantage are as follow. Operational capability means obtaining competitive advantage under directly operations in a specific supply chain or supply chain networks and it is the expression form and external power of obtaining competitive advantage. Improving capability improves and updates the existing competitive advantages by organization learning. It's the internal power of updating competitive advantage. Coordination Capability effectively controls the access and update of competitive advantage by operational capability and improving capability institutionalization and organization. It's the controlling power of competitive advantage. Reconfiguration Capability is the tension of operational capacity adapting to the environment.4. Impact of environmental turbulence and supply chain dynamic capability on competitive advantageAs a self-organizing system compatible with the environment, information and knowledge exchange are ongoing between the supply chain dynamic capability and external environment. Therefore the supply chain dynamic capability is inevitably affected by external environment. Empirical studies have shown that trends in the external environment will affect the supply chain dynamic capability and its four dimensionalities. What's more, environmental turbulence has positive regulation role on the promotion of supply chain dynamic capability on competitive advantage.
