Relationship Research On Resource Dynamic Capability And Competitive Advantage Of Freight Forwarder Company

In the past forty years,the rapid development of international trade has brought along great demand for international logistics service,together with the full lifting of access restriction on international forwarding industry for foreign capital and companies after 2005,Chinese international forwarding companies has greatly developed confronting with opportunity and competition,and increased in term of quantity of companies,scale and operation ability.Considering more and more companies choose to outsource logistics which is non-core business,as well as support from modern information technology to logistics,the traditional custom agent service cannot satisfy clients very well,the operation,scope of service and development pattern have changed a lot,modern comprehensive logistics and full supply chain management service are the new goals for forwarding companies.Due to years of development,with rich capital,mature operation philosophy and business model,foreign freight forwarders have better performance in market compared with Chinese counterparts.Facing with ever-changing market and strong competitors,Chinese freight forwarders have to urgently investigate their abilities and increase competitive advantages.Based on above mentioned,this paper conducted the research focused on Chinese freight forwarders about how to increase competitive advantage in perspective of resource and dynamic capability.First of all,a retrospective analysis is carried out both from theories and documents regarding competitive advantage,resource,dynamic capability and international freight forwarder,analysis is oriented on impact from resources and dynamic capability on competitive advantage,which works as the theoretical foundation of empirical research.Secondly,apart from theory and documents,the interaction mechanism between resource,dynamic capability and competitive advantage are demonstrated and explained,interaction model of three factors and assumption are proposed and deduced theoretically.Thirdly,empirical research is carried out,as current research is very insufficient about competitive advantage of Chinese freight forwarder in the view of resource and capability especially dynamic capability,with reference to mathematical tools for variable measurement,questionnaire with 29 research items are prepared in view of characteristic of international forwarding industry,and are distributed to freight forwarders located in Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou and Shenzhen as survey objects.All obtained data are analyzed from the perspectives of reliability and validity,and the assumptions of proposed model are verified by using Structural Equation Model.Finally,conclusions are drawn,which show resource has remarkable impact on dynamic capability,dynamic capability has obvious impact on competitive advantage in term of environment awareness,learning capability,innovation and integration capability,and resource will influence competitive advantage through intermediary role of dynamic capability.Suggestion for improving competitive advantages for small and medium freight forwarders is concluded,that dynamic capability shall be cultivated on first priority and important resources shall be rearranged by ranking.
