It can offer a 3D human-computer interface to simulate traffic and control on navigation by using the technology of virtual reality. In order to enhance the extent and the profundity of interactive between users and computers by breaking though the limit of the traditional human-computer interface, the concept of VGE (Virtual Geographic Environment) has been formed under the guidance of Mr. Chen Shupeng academician in Chinese Academy of Science from 1995. The VGE based on traditional distributed system exposures more and more limitations with the enlarging the application scope, aggrandizing the involved fields and enhance computing account. For example, it can't realize to schedule resources dynamically, to eliminate information solitary islands and to produce knowledge. Grid, as the third generation Internet technology, is the best way to solve these problems because of its core technologies, such as shielding heteroid data, eliminating information solitary islands and scheduling resource dynamically. So, the paper brings forward the idea of Grid-VGE (Grid Virtual Geographic Environment) firstly. At the same time, the academic and software framework of Grid-VGE are constructed respectively based on the theory of OGSA (Open Grid Services Architecture) and the idea of services. Then, the paper analyses and discusses the key technologies of Grid-VGE from wholeness to parts.It must be solved urgently how to simplify the applications in Grid-VGE because of its complexity. These applications belong to the sort of BoT (Bag of Tasks) by investigating carefully, so they can be decomposed into several independent tasks which have less data relation between them. Furthermore, BoT applications have been testified to adapt to Grid best by experts home and abroad. The paper introduces Bernstein theory to decompose applications in Grid-VGE firstly. The process of decomposing won't stop until any two tasks abide with Bernstein theory. In the meantime, the topology relation among tasks will be recorded. It has been testified that it only needs less time to complete the application after been decomposed than the same application not been decomposed. So, it improves the performance of Grid-VGE by using this theory.
