Nowadays, the streaming media technology, which is characterized by transmitting streaming multi-media program, is increasingly dependent on the next network protocol——IPv6. The fundamental character of streaming media technology during the transition period from IPv4 to IPv6 is that it supports services for both IPv4 and IPv6 users fairly. Therefore, it is necessary to design a program-scheduling mechanism to realize the fairness of scheduling the streaming media program. The characteristics of the streaming media technology application make it necessary to take more factors into consideration when implementing the streaming media program scheduler than the conventional server play resources scheduling. Moreover, the implementing mechanism of mobile streaming media program-scheduling is different from streaming media program-scheduling in the environment of Internet. Therefore, the paper focuses on several aspects, such as the interpretation gateway of the IPv4/IPv6 internet work in the streaming media program playing network system, the scheduling strategy of the streaming media program on Internet and the scheduling strategy of mobile streaming media program. By analyzing and comparing the present streaming media technology, the paper discusses the key problems of realizing the streaming media program-scheduling fairness in the transition period from IPv4 to IPv6. Based on the dominant NAT-PT transition technology, the paper designs the modeling of streaming media program-scheduling process, and proposes a new algorithm——MFPQT of the streaming media program-scheduling for the transition period. The scheduling fairness of MFPQT is also analyzed and validated. Finally, the paper also discusses and solves the phenomenon of unfairness in mobile streaming media program-scheduling during the transition period from IPv4 to IPv6, and WFSB-MFPQT algorithm is put forward based the idea of WFS and MFPQT.This research work of the dissertation is supported by"NGN IPv6 Cooperation project by China and Japan (IPv6-CJ【2003】1607)"and the research and development project"Himalayas"of LENOVO.
