Research On Information Service System For Service Grid

With the development of grid computing technologies, Open Grid Services Architecture is becoming the defacto standard of grid architecture. According to Open Grid Service Infrastructure (OGSI), Globus Toolkit 3 (GT3) implements effective management for Grid Services. However, there are some problems when Information Service Platform is constructed by GT3 in wide area. Firstly, the scale of grid services could not be confirmed when grid node manages them; Secondly, the distributed characteristic of grid nodes results in the decentralization of grid information. Thirdly, how to orgnize and manage grid nodes effectively is a problem. Fourthly, how to gather and manage information of grid nodes also needs to be solved.According to the above problems, Information Service Subsystem uses Information Server to collect grid nodes' information and adopts peer-to-peer architecture among Information Servers. Grid information model is created based on the key data of GT3 container, accordingly, the information resources are also constructed. This subsystem implements information transferring by distributed message asynchronized mechanism and deals with input messages by Information Server. Both stored information and transferred message are XML-formated. XML database is introduced to store the content of processed messages.During the implementation of the subsystem, the information of grid services and grid container are developed based on a lot of theory analysis and prototype systems. This project has finished the basic design and development of Information Server. The main flows of the subsystem are implemented by XML technology and Java. In the future, the subsystem should implement data backup and synchronization to create Grid Information Aggregation Layer.
