Along with further strengthening comprehensive exploitation of national marine information resources, it is necessary to build a marine information system to meet the requirements of developing marine economic, protecting marine environment, preserving national marine rights and interests, and rationally exploiting marine resources. In the period of "the eighth five", "the ninth five" and "the tenth five" of China, a large amount of valuable marine data have been collected, and a number of fundamental marine databases involved in many disciplines, many marine information systems and corresponding application systems based on subjects have been gradually built up. However, owing to the characteristic of the marine data involving in many disciplines and formats, the difficulty to obtain marine data and the various clients' demands for marine information, most of the existing fundamental marine databases are dispersive and independent of each other. Furthermore, quite amount of marine data obtained from investigation are just on the shelf, and valuable marine information resources have not been effectively integrated and utilized due to lack of effective organization and management. Therefore, it is necessary to build a model for marine fundamental data and business process. To address the problems described above, the focus of this dissertation is on finding a modeling methodology that can effectively manage and utilize marine data to provide most fundamental technology supports for Digital Ocean. This dissertation have made a systemic study, and made following progress.First of all, after analyzing and studying the characteristics of marine data from multiple sources and having polymorphism and diversity, the methodology of modeling marine data and data warehouse are proposed to organize and manage marine data. And the solutions to address some key issues of the conflict and heterogeneity in distributed data retrieval system, the local data statistics and global data integration, and the schema transformation with polymorphic outputs. Then by adopting workflow management techniques, after studying the methodology of modeling business processes, we propose an architecture of modeling the marine data processing and applications. For the issue of validating workflow models, we study the conflict and correctness validation rules in the process of validating, give the validation criteria of local and global correctness, and propose the validating methods based on graph expansion and graph reduction. To meet the requirements of visualization of marine data and business processes with dynamical multiple dimensions, we propose the multi-dimensional dynamic decomposition expression method of marine data and the visualization expression method of business processes in Digital Ocean.
