Fault-tolerant control theory is an effective approach to improve the reliability of complex dynamic systems, which can not only guarantee the stability of the fault close-loop systems but also meet acceptable performance indices constraints. At present, most of the papers on fault-tolerant control theory focus on the stability of the dynamic close-loop system before and after the fault had happened, but the fault-tolerant controller design with multi-performance indices constraints is seldom considered. So, in this dissertation, the concept and theory of satisfactory fault-tolerant(SFT) control with multi-indices constraints are studied, and the basic SFT framework as well as controller design method are analyzed in detail. Some of conclusions are listed as follows.Firstly, based on state feedback, the SFT system design method is presented for linear uncertain systems with circular pole index, steady variance index and H-infinity constraints. The range of steady variance upper index and H-infinity index is analyzed in detail, and the two indices are consistent with assignable pole index. Based on the above consistent analysis, an effective SFT controller design step is developed.Secondly, based on dynamic output feedback, the SFT control system design method for linear uncertain systems with assignable pole index, steady variance index and H-infinity index constraints is produced. Via the LMI optimal technology, the admissible range of each performance is analyzed in detail. Additionally, an effective satisfactory fault-tolerant controller design step is set up.Thirdly, the reliable control problem with cost function index constraint is also discussed. An optimal reliable guaranteed cost control system design with pole index constraint for linear uncertain systems is presented. Subsequently, the optimal guaranteed cost fault-tolerant control strategy is discussed for a class of interconnected time-delay systems. For a class of nonlinear uncertain systems, a sufficient condition for existence of fault-tolerant controller with cost function index and L2-gain disturbance attenuation performance index constraints is developed, and the possible SFT controller depends on the solution of given HJI.Fourthly, based on the decomposition and equivalence principle, this dissertation addresses the problem of fuzzy fault-tolerant control systems design for nonlinear systems...
