Same as agile manufacturing, collaborative manufacturing, network manufacturing and green manufacturing, virtual manufacturing (VM) is an important part of advanced manufacturing technology, and an key means of reconstructing traditional manufacturing by informatization. Virtual manufacturing is essential implementation of actual manufacturing process on computer, which implements product development, manufacturing, administration and control by computer simulation and virtual reality on computer in order to enhance decision-making and control ability on all levels. The emergence and development of network economy changed radically manufacturing environment, realized globalization of production and competition, and made buyer's market come into being. Under the wide background of economy globalization, manufacturing is cooperatively implemented in the supply chain. Therewith, as the times require, collaborative virtual manufacturing (CVM) is emerging. As the widening and extension of virtual manufacturing, CVM lays more emphasis on the collaborative participation of manufacturer, supplier, partner and customer, and the implementation of manufacturing process on computer by collaborative work. CVM can be defined as a kind of VM based on network, database and distributed computing, which is cooperatively participated in by manufacturer, supplier, partner and customer, and supports supply chain management and personalized services.CVM oriented supporting environment is the primary research work of this thesis. CVM oriented supporting environment is a kind of supporting software environment serving CVM by the integration of virtual reality, computer network, database and distributed computing. The concept of CVM is presented by this thesis, and some theories and methods of key technology of CVM oriented distributed supporting environment are researched. The architecture structure of SCM-oriented and CRM-oriented distributed virtual manufacturing system is researched, based on which the distributed object model of CVM is established. The application system is developed, and actually applied in enterprise. The primary work of this thesis includes:(1) The concept of CVM is presented, and the architecture structure ofSCM-oriented and CRM-oriented distributed virtual manufacturing system is researched. According to the actual situation of manufacturing enterprise of our country, the requirements of supply chain management, customer relationship management and distributed virtual manufacturing are considered in this architecture structure, which makes it possible that customer, sale, manufacturing and logistics are integrated.(2) Based on computer network, database and distributed computing, the distributed object structure of CVM system is established. The main inconsistency between the internal requirement of CVM and the current usable distributed object structure is pointed out. The main technology connotation of CVM oriented distributed supporting environment is presented. And then the efficiency of distributed system is discussed.(3) The CRM model of CVM is researched. Combining with the characteristic of CVM, a CORBA-based CRM model is presented on point of information system. Based on the fuzzy clustering analysis on the customizable index tree, the classified management of customer is implemented.(4) The CRM-oriented communication platform is established. Combining with database design, the management model of electronic fax and Email on the Windows platform is designed, and distributed environment oriented electronic fax management system and Email management system are implemented. The load balance and fault-tolerance operation between the multiple fax servers are discussed, and the data management functions including backup, recovery and migration for Email are implemented.(5) Based on the reference and development of the existing research methods about the correlative research directions (distributed virtual environment and network-based CAD), a di...
