Study On The Exploitation Of Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts In The Context Of Efforts To Construct Yunnan Into A Strong Ethical Cultural Province

With the development of China's society and economy, cultural progress has become an essential requirement to enhance the country's comprehensive national strength and promote its national revitalization. With the most ethnic minorities in China, Yunnan owns rich and colorful ethnical culture and has the advantage of developing its culture industry. By virtue of its culture diversity, in early1996, Yunnan Province proposed a tentative plan to construct a major province of ethnical culture. After the17th National Congress of the CPC, people's cultural consciousness rose quickly and the construction of national culture got into a good state. In2008, Yunnan Province promulgated the "Opinions on the Construction of Yunnan Ethnical Cultural Province", which formally mapped out the strategies of promoting the province from a major cultural province to a strong cultural province. It is quite meaningful to search for a systematic exploitation mode of the characteristic minority archives in the current favorable environment. This dissertation takes Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts for example to analyse a new mode of exploiting minority archival resources and enhancing the construction of "Yunnan Model" culture industry.This dissertation consists of6chapters.Chapter1IntroductionThis chapter contains the background and significance of the research, as well as the methods, content and the current domestic and foreign situation of the study. An "Outside to Inside" way of exploitation is proposed in this dissertation, which is based on the currently advanced concepts and relevant results. The whole dissertation was completed by means of field investigation, literature research, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and interdisciplinary research methods. The construction and implementation of the "Outside to Inside" exploitation mode will not only enrich the archives and culture industry theories, but also have guiding significance in the practice of exploiting national cultural resources. Chapter2Analysis of Yunnan Ethnic Cultural Province ConstructionThis chapter introduces the significance and some measures of Yunnan ethnic cultural province construction. Then it discusses the immanent and inevitable connection between the construction background and the exploitation of Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts.Chapter3Inheritance and Development of Dai Culture and Dai Palm-leaf ManuscriptsThis chapter takes the content and characteristics of Dai culture as the beginning, and then discusses the close relationship between Dai culture and Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts. Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts were derived from Dai culture and flourished along with the further development of the culture. The relationship is also reflected in the third part of the chapter which is about the composition of Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts.Chapter4Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts'Academic Functions and Exploitation ValueThis chapter firstly demonstrates Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts'value in historical studies, religious studies, literature and art research, science and technology studies, ecological studies and other academic value. And then discussed is the Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts'feasibility of exploitation as culture industry on the basis of the theory of resource. And it also introduces a large number of relevant theories, policies and achievements. Basic ways of exploitation for Dai Palm-leaf Manuscripts include cataloging, translation, digital construction, etc. Advanced ways of exploitation are introduced from the core layer, the outer layer and the relevant layer, according to "Classification of Culture and Related Industry in China".
