| This paper takes the research beginning by the concept of Yunnan Dai nationality beiye archives and the division of the endangered archives, and constructs Dai nationality beiye archives protection strategy based on the correlation theories and practices of beiye archives protection. Then I have studied the related content of beiye archives protection, including Xishuangbanna autonomous prefecture investigation, salvage conservation and prevention conservation.This paper has 6 chapters.Chapter 1 IntroductionChapter 1 includes the background of study, current situation of study, meaning of the subject, framework of paper, studying method, innovation, and restriction of study.Xishuangbanna autonomous prefecture has massive Dai nationality Beiye archives. However, the resources which could use in the archives protection are very limited now. So the contradiction between the massive archives and the limited protction resources becomes in the subject matter of the archives protection. The best means to alleviate this contradiction is to find the archives which are the most urgently needed protection, and provides the individuation protection measures. The endangered archives mean the archives in imminent vanishing or thorough damage, which have the most urgent demand to be protected. Therefore, the study of the archives protection strategy is very meaningful in the theory and practice.At present, although the domestic and foreign scholars have researched some related studies, they mainly concentrate on the study on the single beiye archives collection, arrangement, catalogue and are limited to the study on the form, value and features, basically the study on the concept of beiye archives, the division of the endangered archives, division protection is under the blank stage. Therefore, the study on beiye archives protection is a brand-new subject. The strategy of beiye archives protection will deepen and develop the archival preservation theory. Meanwhile, it provides the theoretical basis and practice guidance for the beiye archives protection.To complete this research target, the proper study method is required. This paper adopts the following studying methods:documentary studying method, on-the-spot investigation method, combination of quantitative study and qualitative studying method, and applying the cross subject studying method.Chapter 2 Study on the Concept of Beiye Archives and Division of the Endangered Beiye ArchivesIt includes the definition of beiye archives concept and division of the endangered beiye archives.Beiye archives are the important component of nonmaterial cultural heritage. Beiye archives fly its own colors because of unique making skill and containing Dai nationality culture so that should be protected as better as possible.Beiye archives concept is not specifically defined all the time, frequently it is only defined with the existing beiye Buddhist Scripture. This paper indicates that beiye archives is a original record of reflection social practice, which is carved on the leaf by Dai nationality characters as well as is made in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China. Quote the conception of the endangered species; I have divided the endangered archives from the massive archives which includes the endangered carrier materials and the endangered information. In summary, the endangered archives are the carrier materials of which damage seriously, or the information of which are very scarce. Obviously, the endangered archives have two aspects. One is the division of the endangered carrier materials. Through quantifications of 8 targets, I proposed the division basis which the carrier materials are in imminent danger in investigation and study foundation. Another is the division of the endangered information. Reference the related division basis of relic and ancient book; I proposed the division principle and the division basis initially.Chapter 3 the Present Protection Situation of Beiye Archives in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan It involves beiye archives'general circumstances, the present protection situation and main problems.The present situation summary of Dai nationality beiye archives is the premise and foundation of the pointed protection strategy. Through questionnaire survey and on-the-spot investigation, the author has collect the massive primary data and the research source materials, which is very important to the present situation summary.The quantity of Dai nationality beiye archives is huge in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. And most of them are before or after republican's archives, extremely few of them form before Ming and Qing Dynasties. The investigation showed that the most beiye archives which is kept in all kinds of archives are in the reasonable and stable preserved environment; A lot of beiye archives which is kept in many temples are preserved well, few of them are showed embattlement, mildew and blotch; Many beiye archives which is washed away in folk are damaged seriously enough to endangered condition.At present, the situation of Dai nationality beiye archives protection is unoptimistic. And the main problems include general circumstances not clear, ageing and decreasing seriously, preservation condition poorly, disperse storage sites, lack scientific management of archives'salvage and restore funds investment insufficiency and so on.Chapter 4 the Origin Analysis of Beiye ArchivesIt involves the internal and external factors of influence beiye archives in imminent danger.In general, the factors of influence archives in imminent danger include the internal and external cause. The Internal cause of the carrier material durability is the determining factor. And the external factors including environmental factor, social factor and management factor, accelerates or slows down the damage advancement being in imminent danger.Beiye's fiber structure and the quality of physical chemistry decide the durability of carrier materials. And the pigment ingredients and carve forms decide the durability of beiye materials. The environmental factor is the natural external factors to cause archives in imminent danger. Usually, beiye archives'damage is not as a result of the natural cause, but the human factor including the society ignores, the protection insufficiency, the management negligence and so on.Chapter 5 the Cascade Protection Model of Beiye ArchivesThe cascade protection is the foundation of the individuation protection strategy, which could enhance the use factor of the limited protection resources, and alleviate the principal protection contradiction. The cascade protection model this article described has contained the entire process of the archives protection, which provides the reliable theory basis for the protection strategy of endangered archives.This model includes four modules which are Xishuangbanna autonomous prefecture investigation, the grade division module, the salvage conservation module and the preventive conservation module.Xishuangbanna autonomous prefecture investigation module provides the primary data and the source material for the study of the grade division and the individuation protection, which is the foundation of other various modules. The grade division module is the core of the entire model, which manifests the cascade protection idea. The salvage conservation module and the preventive conservation module is the aim to construct the cascade protection model, which is the implementation of the protection strategy.Chapter 6 the Protection Strategy of Beiye ArchivesIt involves the salvage protection and the preventive protection of endangered archives.The objects of salvage protection are the seriously damaged archives, which need to protect urgently. The salvage protection divides into the salvage protection management and the salvage protection technology. The management of salvage protection means taking special management measures according to the endangered archives'condition. It includes making the salvage plan, creation the message platform, establishment the salvage file, consummating the salvage standard, standard the work flow of salvage, establishment the salvage appraisal mechanism.The salvage protection technology means implementation individuation protection operation according to the endangered condition of archives, which includes curative conservation, restoration and digitization.The preventive protection means putting the endangered archives in a good preserved environment, so as to reduce the possibility of damage and the preservation life of archives. The preventive protection divides into the preserved technology, protection management and the protection's social aspect.The preserved technology protection means putting the archives in the reasonable and stable preserved environment through integrated surrounding control, which includes the humiture control, the illumination control, the air quality control and the pernicious biology control. It includes the corresponding law, formulation the protective standard, establishing special archival store room and reserving storage in another land.The protection's social aspect refers to raising the protection consciousness, increasing investment, imparting the skill of Beiye, advancement the protection research and enhancement international cooperate and exchange.
