Tuition plays a key role in Chinese non-government institute; it will continue to play an important role in the future. This paper studies tuition in Chinese non-government institute from the perspective of micro-economics, using the theoretical analysis and empirical research.Tuition in Chinese non-government institute is the main study theme in this research. The study is launched as follows: firstly it analyzes the status of tuition, and then explores the causes of the status of tuition, and lastly develops tuition standards at the end. The main contents of the paper are as follows: (1) On the basis of theoretical thinking and research of tuition practice in non-government institute, it figures out that the market price of education services is the essential characteristic of tuition, and tuition in non-government institute is subject to market conditions and the cost situation. (2) Market conditions and the overall cost are the main causes of tuition. Tuition is related to a series of market factors and operating cost. (3) It tries to solve the problem of tuition standards. This part of the contents focuses on the development of tuition standards, pointing out that non-government institute should follow the basic principles, and should meet the basic requirements and select the suitable methods. At the end, this paper works out a simple and feasible indicator system of tuition.The main conclusions obtained from this study are as follows:(1) Tuition in non-government institute is the market price of education services, and it is a special market price. (2) Tuition in non-government institute is subject to market conditions, including income level, market supply and demand of non-government higher education, competition situation of non-government higher education market, running risks of non-government institute, and other factors. (3) There are positive correlations between tuition in non-government institute and operating cost; the change of operating cost is the important reason that causes tuition adjustment. (4) In a sense, tuition level in non-government institute is the results of the game between market stakeholders. Developing tuition standards is not easy, it involves many factors. Establishing a scientific and reasonable, affordable and accessible system could help non-government institute to make a rule-based, evidence-based standard tuition, avoiding unreasonable deviation.
