We have entered into a transitional period since 1990s; while, new curriculum reform becomes more extremely complex, which lists curriculum leadership in school on the top of curriculum research. Apart from teacher, curriculum leadership in school plays anther essential role in curriculum implementation.Considering leader's power and force as a key part, curriculum leadership in school is a process of their influence on curriculum affair and faculty. However, there have no evidence of their relationship, especially how power and how much degree does president influence on curriculum leadership. Accordingly, this paper tries to unfold the relationship between president's power and its curriculum leadership by quality-quantity method. During the process, interview, observation, analytical method, questionnaire are conducted, whose data are analyzed by SPSS from the view of depicting, correlation, and multi-regression.We can infer that dilemma confronting with president in curriculum reform is core variable in the research, which correlates closely with president's power and its curriculum leadership.Form the data, there are four types of 12 roles in president curriculum leadership:Core role in curriculum leadership: designer of curriculum objective; planer of curriculum system; leader of school-oriented curriculum development;Traditional role in curriculum management: manager of curriculum implementation; evaluator of teacher and student;Role of influencing teacher: server of teacher; actuator of teacher; supporter of teacher;Role of supporting curriculum leadership: appreciator of curriculum tendency; negotiator of curriculum affair; promoter of school culture;The research has found that power and dilemma influence less on core role in curriculum leadership, which illustrates president in this role doesn't express the essence of curriculum leadership well. While, power and dilemma obviously influence more on the role of supporting curriculum leadership, which president costs much on. Traditional role in curriculum management locates during the previous two roles. We can see that president prefers more attention on corresponding harmonization to specific curriculum and instruction affair, which focuses on general curriculum affair rather than special curriculum theory's construction. They have not understood curriculum leadership well yet, still leaving a certain distant.Comparing with consulting power, prize power, authority power and force power influence the least in curriculum leadership; while, professional power plays distinct function. Therefore, it is necessary for president to improve their professional knowledge and capability as to play curriculum leadership well. Unfortunately, moral power is neglected; moreover, authority power and force power cannot be made full use of and prize power leads a negative way to some degree.Among all dilemmas, knowledge-capability dilemma is the biggest problem, man-power and time dilemma as following place. To our surprise, evaluating dilemma plays nothing in curriculum leadership, which manifests that curriculum leadership in school is superficial, leaving teachers in "deep water" of curriculum reform.Accordingly, this research aims to bring forward seven strategies: improve presidents' knowledge and capability, promoting their competition in curriculum leadership; set up their moral sense, advancing curriculum leadership influence; adjust their role expectation, endowing with responsibility of curriculum leadership; reconstruct curriculum conception, innovating curriculum management system; make full understanding of power, developing all optimistic elements; enforce pedagogy fairness, fulfilling corresponding construction of resource and capability; open to various theory, promoting young and female president as possible.
