The imperial examination system of Ming Dynasty has inherited many items of the imperial examination since Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty, and has been strengthened and developed while being practiced. The establishment of the three-level examination system, the confirmation of the three-step examination, and the division of the subjects and contents all inherit the whilom properties, are enriched perfected and developed. Meanwhile it advances the imperial examination system of ancient China to a summit. In Ming Dynasty is a period of sum-up and maturation of ancient China. The theme of the imperial examination system of Ming Dynasty is fully developed while the examination being practiced. The Confucianism of the examination and schooling, the synthesis of the examination, all-rounders' recognition, the mental adjustment and interaction, the system of regional selection and pre-position training, the necessity of schools, and the thought of any personnel suitable for vacancies in the imperial examination system form its own characteristics.
