Dostoevsky is a Russian writer, whose creation is an important phenomenon in the world. This paper tries to have a comparative study on Dostoevsky's creation, as his creation has great influence on modern Chinese literature. Chapter I. Mediotranslatology, a translation study on Dostoevsky, which consists of three parts. Firstly it introduces the history of translation of his works in China, from 1907 to 2002. Secondly it summarizes what achievement we have obtained. Thirdly it analyzes how the aesthetics and politics, ideology and literary bazaar (market demands) have acted on the literary translation. Chapter II. Thematology, a thematic study on Dostoevsky, which expounds the viewpoints toward three important problems in literature: sex, family, and intelligentsia. Sex, as a culture concept, not only has influence on Dostoevsky's creation, but also is an important theme in his novels. For example, the Oedipus complex, prostitute complex and love triangle spread all over the place of his novels. Although Chinese writers have different explanations about the problem, it similarly produces important affect in Chinese literature. Family is an elementary cell of civilization society. Dostoevsky described many accidental families, and Chinese writers do that so. The intelligentsia, Russian or Chinese, was situated between atrocity dominator and benighted, poor people. Dostoevsky held the point that intelligentsia should stand with popular people, in particular helot, a son of the soil. He brought about the theory of soil, or "basisism". The "soil" or basis is a quite complicated concept, which comprises the culture tradition, region conviction, folk-custom, and nationality or ethos. The theory provides us with some helps to elaborate Chinese literature.
