As we know, every social change is necessarily accompanied by advances in technology, every step of human civilization are inseparable from the science-driven. From the 20th century, modern information technology which takes computer and communications technology as the core and network as obvious symbol has been making breakthroughs continuously, which is now changing our world rapidly. The new form of social organization is spread to the whole world, penetrates into almost all areas of world including economics. In the background of knowledge-based economy, knowledge-based enterprises will be come into being inevitably, these knowledge-based enterprises constitute a close eco-system with knowledge as the core. If we want to study the development of modern enterprises, we must start from the knowledge in and among the companies and enterprises.For a long time, the studies on business management (enterprises management) have been usually standing on the "individual happen" perspective, which means explore the growth of a business process and management activities from the perspective of micro-or individual view of point, research individual adaptation mechanism, coordination mode, learning mode in different internal and external environment; or discuss the formation and development of industry from the perspective of industry as a whole. There are few researches established a real sense of connection between the individual and the whole. This thought has also affected the study paradigm of knowledge management:people more study on the one-way flow of information and knowledge, while lack the discussion of co-existence of individual’s self-development and individuals’co-development in a changing organizational environment. Even though emphasize motive power, stimulation and other external control mechanisms of traditional sense, people do well explain the internal motivation of the entire inter-enterprise knowledge ecology-self-regulation, also known as self-organization. This study follows the George Por’s idea of the knowledge eco-system. The study start from carding the source of co-evolution theory and its applications, then establish the evolution process of "variability", "copy", "select" of knowledge body by analogy. After that, put forward a analytical framework of co-evolution with limited dynamic and heterogeneity as the prerequisite, knowledge, learning, interactive mode as the core, inter-enterprise interaction as the explaining variable, business and industry co-evolution as the explained variable; and finally analyze the inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution from perspectives of enterprise knowledge evolution, industry knowledge evolution, enterprise and industry knowledge co-evolution separately.ChapterⅠis the Introduction. This chapter presents the research background and research significance of this paper, as well as makes a simple analysis of the status quo of domestic and foreign inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution research, then give a statement of main content, research methods, logical framework and the whole structure of the paper.ChapterⅡis the research basis of inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution. This chapter is mainly to solve the rationality of the research. First, this chapter arrange the origin and development of co-evolution theory. Co-evolution theory is from the derivative phenomenon among species, and it is the supplement of traditional Darwinian evolution theory in academic. The enterprise theory absorbed nutrition from the biological evolution, and produced the theory of enterprise evolution and the theory of enterprise co-evolution. Similarly, the research of knowledge management absorbed nutrition from the biological, and produced the theory of knowledge ecological system of enterprise, but did not research the co-evolution phenomenon. And then, the chapter, from the concept of knowledge, introduce the development and main points of enterprise knowledge theory, emphasize the knowledge is the essential attribute of enterprise; clarify that the research of inter-enterprise is the spread and exacerbation of enterprise knowledge theory. Chapter III is the general process of knowledge agent evolution. This chapter compares the process of knowledge agent evolution as "variation, replication, selection" in the progress of biological evolution by analogy, and decompose it into mutation and reorganization, storage and transfer, market choice and internal choice. Because of people’s initiative, this metaphor has limitation, and the progress of knowledge agent evolution is more complex then the biological. The analysis of the general process of knowledge agent evolution will help us to understand the logical lows of knowledge agent evolution and body of knowledge from a logical evolution of the law, and create a condition for analysis framework.Chapter IV is the inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution analysis framework. Firstly, this chapter analyzes the two prerequisites of the inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution:bounded initiative and heterogeneity. Bounded initiative is the research foundation of the behavior between the agents, the contradiction between ignorance and intelligent makes the co-evolution happen, and the significance is strengthened by path dependence caused by bounded initiative. Heterogeneity is reflected in the properties of knowledge itself, but also in the knowledge agent which is caused by knowledge heterogeneity. Subsequently, this chapter create an analyzes framework about inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution including entrepreneurs, learning, knowledge and interaction model, analysis the entrepreneurs knowledge, learning and interaction model by sequence and degree. Finally, this chapter described the analysis logic and process logic of inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution, that is, descriptions the enterprise knowledge evolution, the industry knowledge evolution, co-evolution between those from the feedback relationship.Chapter V is the inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution theory. This chapter, follow the logic of previous chapter created, start with the enterprise knowledge evolution, combine with the industry knowledge, propose an inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution theory. This chapter first examines the process of evolution of enterprise knowledge, divide the process into three stages:imitating creation, independent creation, and inside-outside interacting creation, and the analyses Huawei technologies corporation as an example. These three layers upon layers reflect the enterprise knowledge innovation from the outside to inside and then to internal and external interaction, from simple to complex process. Then explore the industrial knowledge evolution process into three processes:germination stage, developing stage, mature stage, and analyze the development of Chinese portal sites as an example. Finally, this chapter focused on analyzing the inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution mechanism. To industrial development as the timing, knowledge co-evolution process is explained by learning mode, evolution speed and feedback mechanisms, interactive mode, important influence factors, individual knowledge and entry barriers as the five areas.Chapter VI is the ending. In this chapter, conclusions are summarized, further researches are also proposed.The main innovative points of the dissertation are as follows:1. Bring co-evolution thought to the field of knowledge management. From the perspective of development, thoughts about co-evolution always develop with evolution. There is already evolution in the field of knowledge management, but still lacks the research on co-evolution theory. The interaction relationship desires the explanation of co-evolution theory. This research expanse the research method of knowledge management by introducing co-evolution thought and expanse the research field of co-evolution as well.2. Establish a relatively perfect theoretical framework inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution. This dissertation establish an analyze framework of inter-enterprise knowledge co-evolution including objects, subjects, rules, influencing factors and logic, and thus describes the law of knowledge co-evolution between enterprise and industry.3. Deepen the knowledge ecosystem theory. Traditional research knowledge agent evolution focused on concept description and less involved in the specific process.
