Organization structure of enterprise is the framework and organizational backstopping for the enterprise existence and development, and its evolution is the result of the interaction among all elements in the enterprise life cycle. Traditional theory of the structure evolution of firm has placed more emphasis on the effect of material elements which have influenced on the structure evolution of firm. However, the research on immaterial elements, especially on the effect of knowledge is not enough. In this paper, based on the economically analytical normal form, and the integration of research results in management, the problem of knowledge evolution in the structure evolution of firm is discussed from the angle of inter-discipline.An integral model of enterprise knowledge evolution has been constructed by exposition, namely, it is the fundamental motive and the increasingly endogenous key element of structure evolution of firm. In the course of structure evolution of firm, systematic knowledge of external environment is formed through the analysis and coding of external environment and condition. On this basis, the enterprise organization has made its own strategic choice and established its specific development objective. With the combination of the external knowledge, the core notion and development strategy are formed and the knowledge system of firm is constructed, based on which, the organization structure of firm and management model should be adjusted. Under this new model, the mutual knowledge system must be available to all working staff with all efforts so that their skills can meet the need of knowledge structure and enterprise development. In the gradual changing organization, the employees can exchange the mutual knowledge and their tacit knowledge with each other, thus the new explicit knowledge comes into being. After all kinds of knowledge have been integrated and coded, new mutual knowledge is formed and transmitted on to all organizations, which starts the next round of knowledge evolution. In this process, the evolution of all knowledge, combined with human nature, forms a relatively stable enterprising characteristics and behavior characteristics---corporate culture, and has effects on the development of society.The paper is composed of 8 chapters, which can also be classified into four parts from the angle of logical organization.In Part One (Chapter 1 to Chapter 3), it is revealed the research premise and basic notions, and it comes to the conclusion that the process of enterprise growth is that of knowledge evolution. In the introduction of Chapter 1, the background of research and related theory overview are stated, and the approach of research is basically instituted. In Chapter 2 (Nature of Enterprise and its Growth), it is discussed the enterprise growth and found the knowledge nature of enterprise growth. In Chapter 3, based on what has been discussed in Chapter 2, knowledge of enterprise is analyzed. Some problems related to the evolution of enterprise knowledge are preliminarily investigated by using the thought of evolution economy.In Part Two (Chapter 4 to Chapter 6), based on what has been discussed in part one, by analyzing the historical development of the structure evolution of firm and its relationship with knowledge evolution, the fundamental motive of the structure evolution of firm, namely, knowledge evolution, is proved. It is constructed an integral model of knowledge evolution in a simple the structure evolution of firm. It is also probed how to adapt to this new model to conduct management of enterprise knowledge. In Chapter 4 (the Analysis of History and Motive of Structure Evolution of Firm), the history and motive of structure evolution of firm is mainly dissected, and from the angle of static state, the nature of knowledge is initially analyzed. In Chapter 5 (Dynamic Analysis of Knowledge Evolution in the Structure evolution of Firm), it is analyzed the relationship between enterprise knowledge evolution and the structure evolution of firm and its content from the angle of dynamic state, and the integral model of knowledge evolution established. In Chapter 6 (Management of Knowledge in Structure Evolution of Firm), on the basis of the integral model of knowledge evolution, it is dissected how to conduct knowledge management in structure evolution of firm from the angle of management.In Part Three (Chapter 7), by applying the conclusion discussed in Part Two, the history of structure evolution of firm is analyzed, the content and knowledge nature of the modern firm institution is dissected and investigated how to conduct knowledge management in the course of modern firm institution construction.In Part Four (Chapter 8), it is summarized the viewpoint of the paper and explained the content for further research in the future.The study of knowledge evolution in the structure evolution of firm comes down to more disciplines, such as economics, management and etc. Even if the author tries to integrate them and analyzed the topic in one framework, there still exist some deficiencies.
