The coal mining has violently destroyed the natural eco-environment and human landscape, and caused irreversible damage. However, we can rebuild the environment of coal mining area, remold the mining landscape, and provide new opportunities for coal-mining supported cities by land reusing and ecological rehabilitation activities. And if we take scientific and reasonable technical methods and management countermeasures to control and reutilize the coal mining wasteland, large area of coal mining wasteland will become one of the potential land resources which could alleviate the contradiction between human and land.As a city with typical old coal mining industry, XuZhou has a coal mining history of more than 100 years and has made a significant contribution to the economic development of JiangSu province. Due to a long time of coal mining, there is varies kinds of 21333.3ha coal mining wasteland in XuZhou. Taking the example of XuZhou to research on the land use mode and ecological reconstruction of abandoned coal mining land, this paper has some typicality and representativeness.Firstly, the paper pertains to the study background and theoretical basis, introduces the conception, meanings, measures and structure, technique routine, domestic and international research of the thesis, puts forward the theoretical basis of research on the land use pattern and ecological reconstruction of abandoned coal mining land which includes the theory of sustainable development, circular economy, patche -corridor - matrix model, ecological evolution and ecological succession, industrial structure optimization, land use optimized allocation and so on.Secondly, the paper deals with the typical domestic and international land reusing patterns and ecological rehabilitation, puts forward three modern land reusing models of abandoned coal mining land: the eco-industrial park mode based on circular economic theory, the ecological park mode based on the theory of social interests maintaining, the land reuse optimized mode based on the industrial structure optimization theory. Then the paper proposes two ways of ecological restoration according to the degree of natural ecological succession and human factors in the process of ecological reconstruction in abandoned coal mining land. One way is gradual ecological reconstruction based on the practical ability, and the other way is conjugated ecological reconstruction based on the theory of compound ecosystem.Thirdly, the paper takes XuZhou for research on land reuse mode and ecological reconstruction of the coal mining wasteland. Based on introduction of the regional background and characteristics of the status quo of the coal mining wasteland in XuZhou, the function division of the coal mining wasteland and its land reusing procedure are raised: surveying the condition of coal mining subsidence, compiling the land reclamation master plan and building the land reclamation project libraries. Furthermore, it reconstructs the land reuse mode of coal mining wasteland in XuZhou:compound tourism development mode, real estate development pattern, the comprehensive agricultural development mode and development mode of modern industrial park.In conclusion, innovations are as follows. Firstly, the concept of land reuse is put forward, which enriches the connotation of land use and the theory of land use optimized allocation as well. The paper ado vacates that reusing of abandoned land resource, namely, recycling and reusing the land which was used before but abandoned now through the engineering measures and making it possess some certain value again, can also be an implementation method of land resource optimized allocation. Therefore, the research on ecological reconstruction and land reusing mode enriches the connotation of land use and enriches the theory of land use optimized allocation as well. Secondly, three land reusing modes of coal mining wasteland are put forward:the eco-industrial park mode based on circular economic theory, the ecological park mode based on the theory of social interests maintaining, the land reuse mode based on the industrial structure optimization theory. And two ways of ecological restoration are proposed according to the degree of natural ecological succession and human factors in the process of ecological reconstruction in abandoned coal mining land:gradual ecological reconstruction based on the practical ability and conjugated ecological reconstruction based on the theory of compound ecosystem. The findings will provide certain theoretical basis and referential model for the relevant government departments to formulate the principles and policies to develop and reuse the coal mining wasteland.
