Global warming is not only the focus of the international community to pay close attention, but also a hot question is researched by the international academic community. Global warming brings severe challenges to human survival and development, which triggers a new round upsurge of low-carbon economic transformation in the worldwide context. Countries to develop low-carbon economy have become the basic way and strategic choice to tackle climate change, protect the environment and energy security. Low-carbon economy is considered to be the fourth industrial revolution after the IT revolution. Low-carbon economy is a comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable growth pattern, which can effectively promote the transformation of economic development mode. China’s economic development has made remarkable achievements since the reform and opening up. As a big energy-consuming country, high energy consumption promotes the rapid economic growth of China. At the same time, it also brings serious problems of environmental pollution, ecological destruction and so on. Therefore, it is imperative to take the road of low-carbon economy to China. This paper discusses the current situation and trend of global low-carbon economic development, the development of low-carbon economy and its influencing factors of China. In the face of the challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, the energy imbalance between energy supply and demand, China should choose the correct path of low-carbon economy. All of the problems should be researched in-depth.This paper is divided into seven chapters on the structural arrangements. The first chapter is introduction. This part introduces the research background, research significance, domestic and foreign research status, research ideas and structural arrangement, the innovation points and deficiencies. This part of domestic and foreign research status do the carding of the system to the connotation of low-carbon economy, the influence factors of low carbon economy, low-carbon economy and the change of the pattern of economic development, and the path of low-carbon economy. The second chapter describes the concept of low-carbon economy and the theory basis of low-carbon economy. Low-carbon economy has not prescriptive definition. This paper defines the meaning of low-carbon economy. Expounding the connotation of low-carbon economy from different angles. Then this part do the carding of the system from the development concept, laws of nature, stage of development, the way of impact, the way of development, and the development path to the low-carbon economy. It provides theoretical support of the system for researching the global low-carbon economic development and the path choice of low-carbon economy of China. The third chapter discusses the development situation of global low-carbon economy, basic trend and its impact on the global economy. This paper selects the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan and Russia as the research objects. It analyzes the development of low-carbon economy and trends of these countries. The successful experience of low-carbon economy development of these countries can provide a useful reference for China’s low-carbon economy. As a new mode of economic development, low-carbon economy will have important and far-reaching influence on the global economic development. Firstly, low-carbon economy will drive the adjustment of global industrial structure and energy structure. Secondly, low-carbon economy will promote the shift of global ecnonmic development mode. Thirdly, low-carbon economy will build a new pattern of global competition. The effects mainly reflect on international trade and international economic pattern. Fourthly, as the product of low-carbon economy, carbon trading represents the future direction of the world economy. Carbon trading will play an irreplaceable role in leading the transformation of the mode of economic growth and energy savings. Fifthly, the developing countries will face greater challenges from low-carbon economy. On the one hand, pressure to reduce emissions in developing countries is far greater than in developed countries. On the other hand, the emergence of the green trade barrier will pose a threat to export trade in developing countries. The fourth chapter studies present situation and restricting factors of low-carbon economy of China. Firstly, this part discusses the current situation of energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of China. Then it conducts a systematic analysis to the constraints of low-carbon economic development of China. The study concluded that China is a big country of energy consuming and carbon emission. To develop low-carbon economy will be constrained by external factors, internal factors and the "bias" factors. China must recognize the severe situation in the current. China must develop low-carbon economy as a major and a long-term strategic task. The fifth chapter analyzes the path of China’s transition to low-carbon economy. On the one hand, the transition to low-carbon economy is a necessary choice for the sustainable economic development of China. The key to low-carbon transition is to construct the theoretical framework for the low-carbon economic development. Specifically, the mode of low-carbon economic development is guided by low-carbon economic theory. It based on low energy consumption, low pollution and low emissions. Its direction is low-carbon development. It focuses on the development of energy conservation and emissions reduction. The methods and means to develop low-carbon economy is technological innovation. The purpose is to realize the sustainable development. On the other hand, this part puts forward the concrete measures of transformation to low-carbon economy, including the adjustment of industrial structure, the promotion of technological progress, the strengthening of the energy management system, alternative energy, technical innovation and establishing low-carbon consumption mode, etc.The sixth chapter according to the present low-carbon development situation and problems of China. This part puts forward policy suggestions on the development of Chinese low-carbon economy on the basis of successful experience of low-carbon economy in the developed countries. The seventh chapter is the conclusion of the paper. A conclusive point of this article is:Developing low-carbon economy is an inevitable choice of China’s social and economic sustainable development under the background of global warming. Low-carbon economy needs to be supported and fostered of the laws and regulations and government policy. It also requires the power of the institutional innovation and technological innovation, the adjustment of the industrial structure, energy structure and consumption structure. China should seize the current opportunity of economic transformation, and develop low-carbon economy. China should take the guidance of the theory of sustainable development, speed up the adjustment of industrial structure, actively develop and utilize new energy and renewable energy, optimize energy consumption structure, promote system innovation and technological innovation, build the socialist ecological civilization. China must build one road of low-carbon economy with Chinese characteristics.
