As a new type of earth observation method,the UAV remote sensing system is different from the traditional satellite remote sensing system.It has the advantages of flexible,efficient,convenient and so on.The UAV remote sensing system widely used in land monitoring,resource exploration and other fields.However,due to the UAV flight altitude,the camera focal length and other restrictions in the process of aerial photography,the coverage of acquired single image is very small.It is often unable to cover the entire aerial region.In order to obtain the information of the whole target area,a plurality of aerial images can be spliced into a panoramic image.Therefore,aerial image mosaic system developed in this paper has a very important practical significance.This paper introduces the research background and significance,domestic and foreign research status of image mosaic technology.Then it introduces the basic process of image mosaic,summarizes the image preprocessing,image registration and image fusion algorithms,and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages.On the basis of the existing Harris,SIFT,Canny and other feature extraction algorithms,Harris algorithm is improved in this paper.This improved algorithm combines the advantages of Harris algorithm and Canny algorithm,and the time and effect of feature extraction are obviously improved.After the completion of the feature extraction,the rough matching between two images is completed by NCC algorithm.Then the precise matching between two images is realized through the RANSAC algorithm.The transformation matrix can be obtained according to the feature matching,and the coordinate transformation is completed.Finally,an improved weighted average fusion algorithm is used to fuse the image.The apparent splicing line of the splicing process is eliminated,and the fusion effect of the smooth transition is obtained.This paper uses MATLAB programming to realize the aerial image preprocessing,feature extraction,feature matching and image fusion,and completes the GUI design of aerial image mosaic system using MATLAB software.The aerial image mosaic system can efficiently complete the image mosaic.And the system is stable and reliable.It also has operability and good interactivity,smooth operation,and can meet the actual demand.
