As a new summary of the general features and essence of diseases and health, Modern Medical Model --- biopsychosocial medical model combines systematology with integration. It considers human being as the integral entity, which is affected by the interaction of the three factors (the three levels): biology, psychology and society; thus, it requires to explore and solve the problem of disease and health in the three dimensions of biology, psychology and social adaptation. In the early 1980s, the notion of medical model was introduced to the field of medicine in our country, and maintains that medical, model should be transformed from the biological model to biopsychosocial medical model. During the past 20 years, Modern Medical Model and its influence on our medical practice, especially that on medical organization in Chinese hospitals, have been recognized and accepted gradually by the medical field and even the whole society. Meanwhile, internal reforms have been carried out in many hospitals and organizations in order to establish patient-centered medical service system, and the new measures and regulations aim to improve patients' feeling and experience. However, as to outcomes of the reform, obstacles of the process, and the distance between the reform and requirements of biopsychosocial medical model have not been proved sufficiently. This research firstly focused on medical organization change and its outcomes in Guangzhou, which is based on biopsychosocial medical model, and then carried out the investigation of patient satisfaction about doctors' attitudes in diagnosis and treatment, nurses' attitudes in nursing, influences from environment of treatment and system of diagnose and treatment in terms of patients' physical, psychological and social adaptation. The current problems in hospitals and medical organizations have been concluded by means of statistics analysis of the questionnaires and sociological methods of interviews and forums. Then, questionnaires on medical staff were used to make clear about their attitudes and response, and it also analyzed the obstacles in organization change based on some concerned theories in management and organic ethology. Last, some suggestions were put forward in order to remove the obstacles, to improve organization reforms of hospitals in Guangzhou, and to meet the new demands of health. Now, results of this research have been concluded as follows:First, in the biopsychosocial medical model, medical service in Guangzhou covers a wide range, including traditional treatment and prophylactic service, physical and psychological service, and various additional services. In a word, it reflects good medical service in quality, patient satisfaction, medical staff' s attitude, medical environment and facilities. To some extent, organizational reforms of hospitals in Guangzhou are effective in terms of service content and quality.Second, the problems existing in organization reform of Guangzhou include: The doctors neglect patient' s complaint in clinic work, the collection of disease psychology and social factors, the communication with patients by means of essential measures Such as inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation, andthey attach moreimportance to their authority so that the patients can hardly choose the program of examinationand treatment. On the other hand, the nurses neglect the importance of physical and psychological nursing, lack communication with patients, fail to draw their attention to the importance of timely nursing work, and even their nursing standards are limited. Besides, the procedure of medical treatment is not convenient and time-consumed, a waste of time waiting. In short, being disease-centered in biomedical model is still taking the leading position while patient-centered regulations and system of diagnose and treatment develops slowly.Third, obstacles in organization reform of Guangzhou exist in the following aspects: lack of familiarity with biopsychosocial medical model, personal habits (inertia) of medical staff, fear of the unknown, worries about economic loss, threat to previous professional knowledge and status of power, group inertia, obstacle of information exchange, elasticity in organizational structure, organization culture in hospitals, ideas in management, etc.Correspondingly, some suggestions and strategies have been put forward in reference to hospital management in order to meet the patients' demands in the three dimensions of body, psychology and social adaptation:Firstly, medical staff should deepen the cognition of biopsychosocial medical model, pathogetic elements, aims of clinic medicine, medical knowledge system, and the relationship between medical staff and patients.Secondly, the procedure of medical treatment should be simplified further and the construction of treatment regulations and system should be accelerated in terms of both physical and psychological factors, which includes construction of psychological treatment and consulting, establishment of diagnosis, treatment and nursing system in terms of body and psychology, establishment of patients' metal monitoring system and tracing system.Thirdly, in order to move obstacles in the reform, a lot of measures should be taken, such as to update the management notions, to keep information in good circulation in the organization, to bring forth new ideas in organizational culture, to keep the organization structure elastic, and to continue to build learning organization. On the other hand, medical staff should be urged to realize the importance of organizational reform, be encouraged to be a participant of the reform and be supported to fight mental obstacles of fear, worry and threat.
