Study On Responsive Measures Of Traditional Dwellings Basis On Jiangnan Climate

Along with the step of constructing new countrysides, the traditional dwellings are facing a crisis. On one hand, the living standard of people in the countrysides is improving, so the old living space and model can't satisfy the modern residential demands, the residents are longing for changing the living environment. On the other hand, because the cognition of rural residents is limited they are favorite the residences in the modernized city, so they disregard the traditional dwellings. The rural life style is different to the urban, if the building model of the urban is copied to the countryside, it must put much pressure on national building culture, consume of energy and rural environment. In addition the special building patterns and the rich, colorful rural culture that comes into being for characteristic climate of Jiangnan are needed to be inherited and developed. But a lot of bad buildings that is anti-traditional, anti-geographical and anti-climate appear in Jiangnan area with the rapid development of economic and the in-break of modern architectural theories, they are destroyed the whole living culture of Jiangnan. How can this phenomenon be prevented? It is necessary to study the experience of traditional dwellings systemically. Firstly, basis on particular inquisition of income to people in Jiangnan area ,the author found a theory that the comfort degree of every person is influenced by number of economy income, and using this theory the author put forward the linear regression equation of neutral temperature and outside temperature, and set up relative comfort zone of Jiangnan area. On the basis of this study the bio-climate analysis charts for four hypo-climate tone are put forward and the passive design measures are summarized.Secondly, the author analyzed the characters of traditional dwellings? configuration and climatic buffering space and found the basic dwellings? mode and yardstick of four areas, and particularly explained why the yardstick of dwellings exists. Thirdly, the author analyzed how the traditional dwellings are against the solar radiation, humidity, rain and wind, so the author got a set of modes, strategy and quantity indexes of the traditional dwellings responsive to climate. At last, the author summarized the climatic responsive measures of the traditional dwellings of four hypo-climate tone in Jiangnan area and contrasted those with the climate measures of the second chapter. The author also illustrated the climate measures of traditional dwellings are used in modern buildings. On the end of the paper the Zhuangli project in Changxing of Huzhou is illustrated as a design of modern settlement and dwellings. For this design the author made a questionnaire to the local residents. From the result of questionnaires it is known that the local residents are satisfied with the design. The simulation to the indoor environment is analyzed, the result is better than the former dwellings. The traditional dwellings are worth existing and they can develop by design.
