Regional Ecological Environment Modeling And Cartography Based On GIS And RS

A variety of natural ecosystems, which is composed of biome and non-living components, constitutes the ecological environment which have an indirectly, potentially and long-term impact on human survival and development. The research on ecological environment has important scientific and social values. One of the challenges presently is the new research method which can couple the modern information technology and eco-environment model. The ecological environment modeling and cartography based on GIS and RS, which can deepen the relationship of the mathematical model and the image model, has its own advantage in spatial information modeling and cartography.After the thorough understanding of the ecological environment modeling and cartography, the information processes and model chains are analyzed. The overall functional structure and the overall technical process are put forward. The index system and Analytic Hierarchy Process in the ecological environment modeling and cartography are discussed. The comprehensive assessment index system of regional ecological environment quality, fragility and sensitivity are improved.The basic control unit and the scale are discussed. The new idea of the integrated geographical unit and its dividing measure are introduced. The impact of the scale on the ecological environment modeling and cartography is discussed. The constructing method and the contents of data warehouse are designed.In ecological environment modeling aspect, we mainly discuss about the models to assistant to make ecological environment spatial decision. The models concern three steps which are evaluation, planning, and prediction, which we focus on the perspective of spatial analysis to use.Integrated series cartography application in the regional ecological environment research is discussed. The process of the ecological environment intergrated series cartography based the GIS and RS is worked out. The map layers calculation method and model are provided. The comprehensive coordination among the layers is analized. The ecological environment modeling and thematic cartography expression methods in different stages are achieved. Under the regional ecological environment modeling and cartography theories and methods, we choose Beibu Gulf (Guangxi) economic zone and Zhangjiajie tourism area as the two cases. The regional ecological environment spatial information service system frame based on new generation WebGIS is discussed. Lanchang-Mekong River basin ecological environment spatial information service system is constructed based on ArcGIS Server 9.2 in CNGI environment. Two service functions are realized which include the regional ecological environment thematic map distribution and thematic data analysis and decision making.
