Soil fungi are those which have some part of or whole life cycle either in or directly associated with the soil environment. Their roles in soil is extremely complex and fundamental to soil ecosystem. It is a group of organisms which have an immensely diversity. The species of fungi imperfeci are the most abundant in soil, of which dematiaceous hyphomycetes account for more than or about one half of it. Our country spans cold temperate zone-warm temperate, temperate, subtropical and tropical zones, soil and vegetation types are very abundant. Soil as a complex ecosystem, may contains plenty of fungi resource. This study focuses on investigating this group fungi in the warm temperate, subtropical and tropical zones of southeastern China and Yunnan province, intending to discover more species and genera so that develop, ultilize and protect the species diversity of China. This study is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), then it can go with a swing. We selected representative sites in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi,Guangdong, Hongkang, Macao, Taiwan and Yunnan 9 provinces(specialized zones or cities), and collected approximately or more than 570 soil samples. We get more than 600 isolates from those soil samples. The main isolation methods are soil plate methods and dilution plates methods. Based on careful identification, we discovered 113 species included in 53 genera of dematiaceous hyphomycetes.Among them, 36 taxa are new to China, they are Bipolaris chlamydoseptata; Bloxamia phialophora; Cephaliophora subtropica; Cirrenalia irregularis; Cordana longspora; Curvularia subpallescens; Doratomyces fastigium, D. spherica, D. oblonga; Endophragmiella ovalia; Graphium irregularis, G. variablum; Hansfordia pinkera, H. Macao; Humicola subpyriformis; Leptographium henna; Mammaria apicalospora; Monodictys garlic, M. variabilis, M. spherica, M. macrospora; Myrothecium longaspora; Periconia sphaerica, P. yunnanesis; Phialophora banna; Pithomyces angustifoliatis; Pleurophragmium nodulum; Scolecobasidium sinica, S. acutabasica, S. longisporium, S. ovariform, S subhumicola, S. curvularia; Stachybotrys guangdongnesis; Stemphylium longosporium, S. oblongum, S. wenlingensis.Twenty-seven species are newly recorded to China, i.e. Arthrinium state of Apiospora...
