Abundant in plant composing and owning the complicated flora, Hebei Mountainous regions is on a very significant position and is a representative in North China flora. Based on scientific survey and studies for many years, this paper was formed on the latest sum-up to the studies about flora of Hebei Mountainous regions. By identification and statistics to the 13 000 samples collected in field survey, 2 554 species plants (including the forms, varieties and subspecies), belonging to 820 genus and 189 families, are naturally distributed in Hebei Mountainous regions. Among them, there are 401 species bryophyte belonging to 138 genus and 50 families, 98 species fern belonging to 33 genus and 20 families, 16 species gymnosperm belonging to 8 genus and 3 families and 2 039 species angiosperm belonging to 641 genus and 116 families. The element, quality and characteristic of the higher plants flora in Hebei Mountainous regions were systematically analyzed and discussed in present study. The results are following:(1)Temperate element takes the predominated position and owns the typically North Temperate quality. The flora of this region, which interconnects with other flora broadly, is abundant in plant composing and has complicated geographic element;(2) as Hebei Mountainous region located at the district transiting from the warm Temperate zone to Temperate zone, especially the Taihang mountains is the passage and bridge of the flora diffused northeastwards from the warm Temperate and sub-tropic zone of southwest, east and central area of China, the transition of the flora is very obviously and he flora of North and South China are converged at this region;(3) The origin of the flora is very primordially. The particular physiognomy and the favorable climate conditions for the growth of plants results in that this flora includes many primary families and genus.(4) according to the ordination of R/T (tropic genera / temperate genera), the ratio of R/T takes on a descendant trend, as the increasing of latitude to the data of 7 areas and an apparent rule on latitude zonation of floristic variation was expressed. The similar result was obtained through the calculations of shared genera and generic similarity index between these 7 floras. Quantitative analysis on the floristic spectrum by PCA and STATISTIC software was used in the paper. The results show that the North Mountains of Hebei, Taihang Mountain, Taiyue Mountain in Shanxi is closest to Zhongtiaoshan mountains, and the dam-altiplano is closest to northwest mountains of Hebei. But they are all farthest to Longqi Mountains in Fujian and Badagong Mountains in Henan in generic composition;(5) The endemic element accounts for a few ratio. 17 species and 2 varieties belonging to 18 genus and 13 families are endemic to China. There are 45 species belonging to 33 genus and 24 families which are endemic to Hebei province;(6) According to the geobotanical principle and the basic characteristics of physiognomy flora fo Hebei Mountainous region, it was divided into four regions, namely Taihang Mountain region, northwest Mountainous, Mountainous and hills in north and the dam-altiplano;(7) The flora is affluent in resource plants. Base on the investigation to Hebei Mountainous resources plants, more than 820 species resources plants were found and they are divided into 11 kinds according to their utilization;(8) According to the study on the plants geographic distribution, ecological environment, population and the actuality of using of the plant resources, the qualitative and quantitative principle are adopted to determine the threatened status of the rare and endangered plants of Hebei. Three categories are made, namely Endangered, Vulnerable and Near Threatened. The protected priority is divided into three classes, namely first class, second class and third class. The number of the protected plants of first class is 16, the second class is 33 and the third class is 47 in Hebei Mountainous region.
